AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing wireless communication networks face inefficiencies in coordinated sounding procedures due to varying capabilities and conditions among access points, leading to inferior quality of multi-AP network transmissions.

Method used

Implementing modulation scheme adaptation for coordinated sounding across multiple access points (APs) by exchanging channel state information and coordinating transmissions to optimize channel access and data sharing, using techniques like COFDMA, CBF, and JT/JR.

🎯Benefits of technology

Enhances transmission quality and efficiency in multi-AP networks by optimizing channel access and data sharing, improving signal strength and reducing interference through coordinated modulation schemes.

Abstract

A station (STA) receives, from a first access point (AP), a null data physical layer protocol data unit (NDP). The STA receives, from a second AP, a beamforming report poll (BFRP) trigger frame soliciting feedback indicating channel state information (CSI) for a channel between the STA and the first AP. The STA determines the feedback based on the NDP. The STA transmits a frame comprising the feedback. A transmit power of the frame is based on: a first receive signal power, at the STA, of the NDP, and a second receive signal power, at the STA, of the BFRP trigger frame.
