Abstract

This invention provides a method and system for detecting fluctuations in large-scale networks. The method includes: acquiring all IP addresses of the target network to construct an IP address probe set and a prefix set; grouping all probes according to multiple preset geographical areas to form multiple probe groups; for each prefix set in the target network, calculating the distance from each prefix set to a candidate probe group using a distance metric algorithm, and selecting the nearest probe group; establishing an activity evaluation model for all prefix sets in the target network, including an active prefix list, an inactive prefix list, and the activity level of each prefix set; dynamically adjusting the detection strategy for each prefix set in the current round based on the results of the previous round of detection; updating the activity status of all prefix sets in each round of detection in real time; and statistically analyzing the changes in the activity status of all prefix sets in the target network within a preset period to evaluate the fluctuation of the target network. This invention can reduce network resource consumption and the impact on surrounding networks.
