Lip strengthening bar

Abstract

The present invention relates to a specialized reusable therapeutic tool which aims at the convergence and strengthening of the lips of individuals who present reduced muscle tone, paresis or ptosis of the upper and lower lips, as well as at the correct production of lip phonemes ( / m / , / p / , / mp / ). Additionally, it contributes to the control of salivation as well as to a safer feeding process (Figure 1, Figure 2). Said tool consists of the body itself (Figure 1, A, Figure 2, A) and five different sets of circular silicone plates (Figure 1, A, B, C, D, E, Figure 2, A, B, C, D, E). Each set includes two pieces (Figure 1, Figure 2). All plates are three centimeters in diameter and have a notch in their center (Figure 1, A, a, B, b, C, c, D, d, E, e) so that they can be more easily adjusted to the tongue depressor. These sets are differentiated according to their weight, thus, creating five different levels of difficulty.
