AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing heat storage tanks face challenges in increasing heat storage amount, heat dissipation temperature, extending heat dissipation operation time, and enhancing heat dissipation amount.

Method used

The heat storage tank employs multiple solid sensible heat storage materials with varying particle sizes, strategically placing the first solid sensible heat storage material with a smaller particle size closest to the outlet during heat storage operations. This configuration enhances heat transfer and storage capacity while minimizing pressure loss.

Benefits of technology

This approach increases the heat storage capacity, extends the heat storage and heat dissipation operation times, and reduces energy consumption by optimizing the flow path and pressure loss within the tank.

Abstract

To provide a heat storage tank which can increase a heat storage amount and a heat release amount, and which can extend a heat release operation time.SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, a heat storage tank executes: a heat storage operation in which the potential heat of fluid is absorbed in first to n-th solid sensible heat storage materials (n being an integral number of 2 or more) to store the heat; and a heat release operation in which the potential heat of the first to n-th solid sensible heat storage materials is absorbed into the fluid to release the heat. Further, the first solid sensible heat storage material is incorporated in the first region closest to an outlet of inlet of the fluid during heat storage operation. Still further, the first solid sensible heat storage material has a grain size smaller than the n-th solid sensible heat storage material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
