AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional air purifiers struggle to effectively sterilize and disinfect pathogens, including viruses and bacteria, both suspended in the air and attached to surfaces, due to limitations in ozone generation, ultraviolet light effectiveness, and inefficient water spraying, leading to incomplete indoor air purification and potential health risks.

Method used

An up-and-down bidirectional suction type diffuse airflow air sterilization device that mixes sterilized water with filtered clean air to form a vortex, which is then diffused throughout the room using centrifugal blowers, ensuring comprehensive sterilization and disinfection of airborne and surface contaminants.

Benefits of technology

The device achieves efficient sterilization and disinfection of airborne pathogens and surface contaminants, maintaining good indoor air quality by forming a constant airflow that uniformly distributes sterilized air, enhancing habitability and safety.

Abstract

The present invention discloses an air sterilization device with an upward and downward bidirectional suction type diffuser airflow. The upper and lower bidirectional suction type diffusion airflow air sterilization device of the present invention comprises: first and second auxiliary cases having a tubular shape open in directions facing each other, on the sides having first and second air intake ports for drawing air from the outside, first and second pre-filters installed inside the air intake ports for filtering contaminants in the air, and first and second main filters provided in a form that shields the respective open upper and lower surfaces to remove residual contaminants in the air; and a sterilization water supply module comprising a compressor and a sterilization water tank installed inside the first auxiliary case for supplying sterilization water, and first and second spray nozzles respectively installed on one side of the first and second auxiliary cases in directions facing each other for high-pressure spraying of sterilization water. It comprises: first and second main cases connected to one side of each of the first and second auxiliary cases, providing a space in which sterilized water sprayed from the first and second spray nozzles and clean air passing through the first and second pre-filters are mixed and flow in a direction facing each other while forming a vortex; a connecting case connecting the first and second main cases with a part of its side open; and first and second centrifugal blowers installed vertically inside the connecting case, each performing an air intake action on the internal space of the first and second main cases to generate vortex air mixed with sterilized water and discharge it to the side. The upper and lower bidirectional suction type diffusion air sterilization device according to the present invention, configured as described above, has the advantage of enabling purification by rapidly removing contaminated air through the formation of an airflow throughout the entire room. This is achieved by forming airflows that induce the suction of contaminated indoor air from the upper and lower sections, respectively, and simultaneously discharging mixed sterilized air, which is formed by mixing clean air and atomized sterilizing water, through a discharge case positioned in the center. In other words, the present invention generates mixed sterilized air by spraying sterilized water onto clean air that forms a vortex inside the first and second main cases, and forms an airflow that discharges this air into the room through the side of a centrally positioned discharge case, thereby increasing the diffusion efficiency of the sterilized water in the indoor space. Consequently, effective sterilization of various pathogens, including viruses suspended in the air, is possible. Furthermore, effective removal and disinfection of contaminants such as bacteria or microorganisms attached to the inner walls of the indoor space, various items, fixtures, and the clothing of occupants are possible, thereby making the indoor air quality pleasant and maintaining good habitability.
