Description

1 / 6 “CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN A FEEDER FOR FEEDING SHRIMP AND OTHER AQUATIC ANIMALS”. FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[001] This Utility Model patent application refers to a new constructive arrangement in feeders for feeding shrimp and other animals with similar habits. FUNDAMENTALS OF THE INVENTION

[002] Raising aquatic animals in captivity requires special care regarding water temperature, oxygen levels, and proper feeding. Tanks, whether built directly on the ground or not, should be shallow, and their water should be constantly aerated to prevent oxygen deprivation and animal death, especially when it comes to raising shrimp in captivity.

[003] Shrimp are omnivorous animals, meaning they feed on everything: animal and plant debris, plankton, algae, live or dead benthos, dead animals and dead shrimp, as well as the shells of shrimp that have molted. They are nocturnal and live at the bottom of the tank searching for food.

[004] Shrimp farming in captivity uses specialized feed for feeding the animals, which is placed in low-sided, perforated feeders for water entry, which are sunk so that the food is made available to the animals at the bottom of the tank.

[005] In the past, feeders were made from various materials such as tire casings, among other devices. Shrimp feed had a different composition than it does today and floated easily, overflowing from the feeders and spoiling before the animals could fully benefit from its nutrients. Spilled and uneaten feed worsens water quality because it ferments and generates ammonia, increasing oxygen consumption. Petition 870250048554, dated 10 / 06 / 2025, page 5 / 12 2 / 6

[006] To solve the problems pointed out in paragraph 005, the Plastsan - Plásticos do Nordeste LTDA filed a patent application for "FEEDER FOR SHRIMP AND OTHER AQUATIC ANIMALS WITH SIMILAR HABITS", process no. PI 0305050-5, dated 08 / 27 / 2003, claiming protection for a feeder with a lid and lifting rod equipped with a base, which lowers the water level with the lid closed and, upon touching the bottom, the central rod raises the lid and allows the shrimp access to the feed without waste.

[007] It turns out that currently, with the evolution in the composition of feeds for shrimp and similar animals, which are denser and do not float easily, as well as with the improvement in management techniques, it has been found that the hydrodynamics of water entering through the sides of the feeder makes it no longer necessary to use feeders with a lid and lifting rod equipped with a base.

[008] Currently, feeders similar to those required in patent application no. PI 0305050-5 are used, that is, only the central part without a lid and rods with a base, with the producer only needing to tie some heavy element to the bottom of the feeder to facilitate that it slowly submerges to carry the feed to the bottom of the tank.

[009] However, developing some appropriate element or attaching heavier objects to the bottom of the feeder without a base and lid to assist in submerging the feed inside the container is not a simple task, it is laborious and there is no standard to be followed, and it can even leave the feeder unstable and tilted at the bottom of the tank, with an inadequate center of gravity, causing a small waste of feed.

[010] It is worth noting that searches were carried out in other patent databases around the world, and no results were found that proposed a suitable feeder for use in feeding shrimp raised in captivity. Petition 870250048554, dated 10 / 06 / 2025, page 6 / 12 3 / 6 [Oil] Therefore, with the aim of finding a more practical and economical solution in the design of an efficient feeder, with a pre-defined structure to aid in its preparation, the inventor developed the “CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED TO A FEEDER FOR FEEDING SHRIMP AND OTHER AQUATIC ANIMALS”. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[012] This descriptive report of a utility model refers to a new constructive arrangement applied to feeders for feeding shrimp and other animals with similar habits, which is presented in a simple, practical and efficient way.

[013] This new feeder is presented as a circular container (1), equipped with low, openwork mesh sides (2), a double option for fixing (A and B) the feeder's suspension cord and, most importantly, a central recess (3) with anchoring elements (4) molded into the feeder itself.

[014] To avoid laborious adaptations or arrangements, the present feeder has a central recess (3) with anchoring elements (4) for the cement mass, which must be prepared to fill the recess in the central structure of the feeder, forming a cement disc, which is fixed by the anchoring elements (4).

[015] The anchoring elements (4) serve to fix the cement wafer (5) in the central recess (3) of the feeder. They consist of small flat-headed protrusions that hold and anchor the cement wafer (5) made in the central recess (3) of the feeder.

[016] The present constructive arrangement facilitates the preparation process of the feeders, which have a suitable structure for the construction and fixing of the cement wafer (5), which serves as a weight to assist in the submersion of the feeders with feed, replacing other archaic methods and makeshift solutions in the construction or tying of elements. Petition 870250048554, dated 10 / 06 / 2025, page 7 / 12 4 / 6 that serve as weights to sink the current feeders.

[017] In addition to facilitating the construction and anchoring of the cement discs ( 5 ) in the central recess ( 3 ) of the feeders, the present constructive arrangement standardizes the feeders in a discreet and safe manner, without affecting the handling in the feeding of the shrimp. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[018] For a better understanding of the “DISPOSITION The following is a detailed description of the construction applied to a feeder for shrimp and other aquatic animals, with reference to the attached drawings, where: Figure 1 is an isometric view of the present feeder; Figure 2 is a side view of the present feeder; Figure 3 is a bottom view of the present feeder; Figure 4 is a top view of the present feeder; Figure 5 is a 3D view of the present feeder prepared for use, with the cement wafer (5) fixed in the central recess (3) and the elevation cords (6) fixed on the sides. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[019] As we can see in the attached drawings, the “CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN A FEEDER FOR FEEDING SHRIMP AND OTHER AQUATIC ANIMALS” refers to a feeder for feeding shrimp and animals with similar habits, made in a single piece, consisting of a circular container (1) with low and open sides (2) in the shape of a screen, with a central recess (3) for molding and anchoring a cement disc (5).

[020] The sides (2) of the container (1) are made with an outward opening angle, so that the upper part has a larger diameter than the lower part, and there is a folded edge on Petition 870250048554, dated 10 / 06 / 2025, page 8 / 12 5 / 6 lateral (2) of the container (1), where holes (A) are made in the horizontal part of said edge, and also larger holes (B) below the edge, which are used to fix the support cord (6) of the respective feeders, the cord being able to be fixed in the smaller holes (A) or in the larger holes (B), according to the option of the shrimp producers.

[021] The upper part of the sides (2) is made up of a mesh-like structure, about two-thirds of its height, while the lower part is closed to contain the remaining feed, however, there are several sets of four holes (7) at the level of the bottom of the container (1) to drain the water when the feeder is being lifted for refilling.

[022] The central recess (3) at the bottom of the feeder was developed in such a way that a mass of cement can be easily molded within said recess (3), which is equipped with anchoring elements (4) for fixing the cement wafer (5).

[023] The anchoring elements (4) of the cement wafer (5) inside the central recess (3) are structures molded together with the feeder itself, which have flattened heads that serve to fix the cement wafer (5).

[024] The cement biscuit (5) is a fundamental piece that is added to the present feeder, whose function is to create a heavier and more centralized center of gravity, which helps in the submersion of the feeder with the feed.

[025] Preparing the feeder for use consists of filling the central recess (3) with a cement mixture, waiting for the cement to cure before use, forming a cement disc (5) level with the bottom of the feeder. Then it is necessary to fix a central cord (6) with three tie points on the edge of the container (1), and it is necessary to fix the upper end of the cord (6) to a stake driven into the bottom of the tank.

[026] The feeder with the feed is placed in the water, descending in Petition 870250048554, dated 10 / 06 / 2025, p. 9 / 12 6 / 6 speed controlled by the weight of the cement wafer (5) and the shape of the feeder, while the water flow keeps the feed in the center.

[027] The shrimp have access to the feed through the top of the trough, which is open, without any kind of lid. Petition 870250048554, dated 10 / 06 / 2025, p. 10 / 12
