AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The lack of sensitive and specific biomarkers and therapeutic targets for bladder cancer in existing technologies leads to high early recurrence and progression rates of bladder cancer, as well as low treatment response rates and poor prognosis in advanced bladder cancer.

Method used

Using LAMP5 as a specific biomarker, its high expression in bladder cancer was detected by bioinformatics analysis and immunohistochemical staining. Antibodies and inhibitors that specifically bind to LAMP5 protein were constructed for the preparation of kits for the diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer. Furthermore, shRNA plasmids were used to inhibit LAMP5 gene expression to suppress the proliferation and metastasis of bladder cancer cells.

Benefits of technology

LAMP5 can assist in the diagnosis of bladder cancer, serve as a prognostic indicator, significantly inhibit the proliferation, migration, and metastasis of bladder cancer cells, provide new therapeutic targets, and improve the effectiveness of bladder cancer treatment.

Abstract

The present application belongs to the field of biotechnology, and particularly relates to a new target for bladder cancer proliferation and metastasis progression research and application thereof, more particularly to LAMP5 as a marker for bladder cancer diagnosis and prognosis, and application of LAMP5 as a bladder cancer marker in preparation of a molecular targeted drug. The present application constructs a stable cell strain with LAMP5 expression knocked down in J82 and T24T cell strains, and functional experiments show that inhibition of LAMP5 expression can inhibit the proliferation and metastasis of bladder cancer cells in vitro and ectopic tumor in vivo. It can be seen that LAMP5 expression can be inhibited by using an LAMP5 expression inhibitor, thereby providing a potential therapeutic target for bladder cancer treatment.
