First connector assembly and connector system

Abstract

This invention proposes a first connector assembly and a connector system. The first connector assembly includes a main body housing, at least two different types of first terminal modules disposed within the main body housing, and at least one independent secondary locking member. The main body housing has at least two receiving cavities, each extending vertically, and the at least two receiving cavities are interchangeable for inserting any type of first terminal module. The main body housing has at least one first locking structure on the inner wall of each receiving cavity. Each first terminal module includes a first module housing and multiple conductive terminals disposed within the first module housing. The outer wall of the first module housing has at least one second locking structure, which cooperates with the first locking structure to lock the first module housing to the main body housing. The independent secondary locking member partially passes through a perforation in the wall of the main body housing and is inserted into the receiving cavity to lock the first terminal module to the main body housing.
