Abstract

The present disclosure provides an electronic component with excellent reliability. An electronic component includes an element main body and an external electrode, the element main body having: a laminate in which internal electrode layers and dielectric layers substantially parallel to a plane including a first axis and a second axis perpendicular to the first axis are stacked in a direction along a third axis perpendicular to the plane including the first axis and the second axis; and gap portions respectively formed in a pair of side surfaces of the laminate opposite in the direction of the first axis, and the external electrode is electrically connected to the internal electrode layers, a pair of end surfaces of the element main body opposite in the direction of the second axis respectively have end surface covering portions covering boundaries of the laminate and the gap portions, and when the area of the end surface is set to 100%, the end surface covering portions cover a proportion of the area of the end surface of 20% or more and 50% or less, and the external electrode covers at least a part of the end surface and at least a part of the covering portions.
