Abstract

The invention relates to a device for generating a dielectric barrier discharge, comprising a discharge reactor and a control device (13). The discharge reactor includes a thermoelectric component (1) and an electrode (2). The control device (13) includes a high-voltage source (12) configured to apply a high-voltage potential to the electrode (2) sufficient to ignite the dielectric barrier discharge, whereby the dielectric barrier discharge enriches a gas with reactive species. The control device (13) is configured to adjust the operating parameters of the high-voltage source (12) and the discharge reactor to achieve a desired composition of the enriched gas. A further aspect relates to a method for generating dielectric barrier discharges.Other aspects include a method for setting operating parameters of a control device, a computer program and a computer-readable storage medium.
