Abstract
Description
BACKGROUNDField of the invention
[0001] Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to tire pressure, and more particularly to a system for monitoring tire pressure of a vehicle. Description of the Related Art
[0002] Tire pressure is a critical parameter that affects vehicle safety, fuel consumption, and overall performance. Improperly inflated tires can lead to reduced traction, longer braking distances, and even tire failure. Furthermore, under-inflated tires contribute to higher fuel consumption due to increased rolling resistance.
[0003] Current tire pressure monitoring systems have limitations in terms of accuracy, real-time feedback, and user interaction. Conventional tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) often cannot adjust tire pressure on the fly, requiring vehicle owners to do so manually.
[0004] There is therefore a need for an improved and advanced vehicle tire pressure monitoring system that can handle the above limitations more efficiently. SUMMARY
[0005] Embodiments according to the present invention provide a system for monitoring tire pressure of a vehicle. The system comprises: a tire pressure sensor arranged in the tire of the vehicle and adapted to measure air pressure in the tire of the vehicle. The system further comprises: a display unit arranged on a dashboard of the vehicle within sight of a user and adapted to display the measured air pressure in the tire of the vehicle. The system further comprises: a control unit communicatively connected to the tire pressure sensor and the display unit. The control unit is configured to receive the measured air pressure in the vehicle's tire from the tire pressure sensor; display the received air pressure in the vehicle's tire on the display unit; compare the received air pressure in the vehicle's tire with a threshold value; and activate a sound unit to warn the user when the air pressure in the vehicle's tire falls below the threshold value.
[0006] Embodiments according to the present invention also relate to monitoring a tire pressure of a vehicle. The monitoring comprises the steps of: receiving a measured air pressure in the vehicle's tire from a tire pressure sensor; displaying the received air pressure in the vehicle's tire on a display unit; comparing the received air pressure in the vehicle's tire with a threshold value; and activating a sound unit to warn a user when the air pressure in the vehicle's tire falls below the threshold value.
