Device (10) for forming a licking mat for animals, in particular for a dog or a cat, comprising at least a body (11) with a top surface (12) and a bottom surface (13) opposite the top surface (12), wherein the top surface (12) of the body (11) has at least a sectionally structured surface (14) for forming a licking area (15), wherein the body (11) has an edge section (16) surrounding the licking area (15) at least sectionally, wherein at least the edge section (16) is elastically deformable, wherein the edge section (16) is folded or bent in such a way as to define a receiving area (17) for receiving an edge area (18) of an object (19), and wherein the edge section (16) is designed to elastically deformably overlap the edge area (18) of the object (19).so that the device (10) can be detachably attached to the object (19).
