Description

COMPOSITION FOR CONDITIONING THE HAIRTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a composition for conditioning the hair. The present invention also relates to a process for conditioning the hair.BACKGROUND ART

[0002] The hair is generally damaged and weakened by the action of external atmospheric agents such as light, weather, and / or the action of mechanical or chemical treatments such as brushing, combing, dyeing, bleaching, permanent and / or straightening.

[0003] There are many products developed for conditioning the hair.

[0004] Current hair oil market is dominated by oil contains silicones. However, many consumers favor silicone-free hair oil products, thus silicone-free oil products are growing worldwide.

[0005] Therefore, it is desired to develop Si-free oil products for conditioning the hair, which can provide similar conditioning effect with silicone-based oil products and do not deliver greasy sensory.

[0006] It is also desired that the products are stable.

[0007] In addition, the formulation of environmentally-friendly cosmetic products, which are designed and developed considering environmental issues, is becoming a major goal in an effort to meet global challenges. It is therefore essential to propose more sustainable compositions to address these environmental concerns.

[0008] In this context, it is important to develop new cosmetic compositions with a better carbon footprint, particularly by promoting the use of renewable raw materials and / or materials with a good index of naturalness and / or materials of natural origin and, more particularly, materials of plant origin while reducing the use of compounds of petrochemical origin.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0009] An object of the present invention is thus to develop stable Si-free oil products for conditioning the hair, which can provide similar or better conditioning effect with silicone-based oil products and do not deliver greasy sensory while being environmentally-friendly.

[0010] Another object of the present invention is to provide a process for conditioning the hair.

[0014] c)at least one fatty acid ester oil,

[0015] wherein the composition comprises no silicone.

[0016] According to a second aspect, the present invention provides a process for conditioning the hair comprising applying the composition as described above onto the hair.

[0017] The inventors have now found that with the combination of at least one unsaturated fatty alcohol comprising a C12-C20 carbon chain, at least one volatile alkane, and at least one fatty acid ester, the composition of the present invention is stable and can provide the hair conditioning effect and lightness sensory. Here the term of lightness sensory means not greasy sensory.

[0018] Other subjects and characteristics, aspects and advantages of the present invention will emerge even more clearly on reading the detailed description and the examples that follow.

[0127] Table 1

[0128] Invention Examples 1-4 and Comparative Examples 1-3

[0129] Leave-on oils according to invention examples (IE. ) 1-4 and comparative examples (CE. ) 1-3 were prepared with the ingredients listed in Table 2 (the contents are expressed as weight percentages of ingredients with regard to the total weight of each leave-on oil, unless otherwise indicated) .

[0130] Table 2

[0131] Leave on oils of invention examples 1-4 are compositions according to the present invention.

[0132] Leave on oils of comparative examples 1 and 2 comprise cyclopentasiloxane instead of a fatty acid ester oil.

[0133] Leave on oils of comparative example 3 does not comprise an unsaturated fatty alcohol comprising a C12-C20 carbon chain.

[0134] Preparation procedure:

[0135] Each leave-on oil was prepared by mixing all ingredients with stirring thoroughly to get a homogenous composition.

[0136] Evaluation:

[0137] The leave-on oils prepared above were evaluated in terms of stability, conditioning effect, and lightness sensory.

[0138] Stability

[0139] Stability of the leave-on oils obtained above was evaluated as follows.

[0140] 20g of the leave-on oil to be evaluated was put in a glass bottle and then the bottle was put in an oven at 50℃ for 2 weeks. Next, the leave-on oil was taken out from the oven and cooled to room temperature. If the leave-on oil still keeps transparent appearance and there is no separation, then the leave-on oil is classified as "OK" , otherwise, the leave-on oil is classified as "NOT OK" .

[0141] Conditioning effect and lightness sensory

[0142] Hair swatches were washed with a silicone-free shampoo (0.4 g / per gram of hair swatch) , and dried with a towel until there is no dripping water.

[0143] Next, 0.1-0.12g of each leave-on oil obtained above was applied on 6 g hair swatch evenly from middle to hair tips, respectively, and then blow-dried.

[0144] Then the conditioning effect delivered by each leave-on oil was evaluated according to the following standard by one expert on hair conditioning.

[0145] Conditioning effect: set CE1 as benchmark, compare each example to CE1, “+” means better than CE1, “-” means less than CE1, “=” similar as CE1.

[0146] Lightness sensory: set CE1 as benchmark, compare each example to CE1, “+” means better lightness / less residue feeling, “-” means less lightness / more residue feeling.

[0147] The results of stability, conditioning effect, and lightness sensory were summarized in Table 3.

[0148] Table 3

[0149] From Table 3, it can be seen that leave-on oils of invention examples 1-4 can deliver good conditioning effect and lightness sensory and are stable.
