AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

User equipment (UE) faces challenges in handling multiple simultaneous physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions when dedicated physical resource blocks (PRBs) are located within the same one megahertz bandwidth, due to unconfigured power spectral density (PSD) limits and power allocation issues.

Method used

The UE identifies a plurality of PSFCH transmissions for simultaneous transmission associated with a bandwidth, which includes one or more dedicated PRBs and a common interlace. It then identifies power allocation, occupied channel bandwidth (OCB) requirements, or PSD limits associated with each PSFCH transmission and transmits based on these parameters.

Benefits of technology

This approach enables the UE to appropriately allocate transmit power and comply with regulatory constraints, ensuring effective PSFCH transmission even with multiple simultaneous transmissions within the same bandwidth.

Abstract

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify a plurality of physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions for simultaneous transmission associated with a bandwidth, wherein the bandwidth is associated with one or more dedicated physical resource blocks (PRBs) and a common interlace. The UE may identify one or more of a power allocation, an occupied channel bandwidth (OCB) requirement, or a power spectral density (PSD) limit associated with a PSFCH transmission of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions. The UE may transmit the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation, the OCB requirement, or the PSD limit. Numerous other aspects are described.

TECHNIQUES FOR PHYSICAL SIDELINK FEEDBACK CHANNEL TRANSMISSION

[0001] FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE

[0002] Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication and to techniques and apparatuses for physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmission.

[0003] DESCRIPTION OF RELATED ART

[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various telecommunication services such as telephony, video, data, messaging, and broadcasts. Typical wireless communication systems may employ multiple-access technologies capable of supporting communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (for example, bandwidth, transmit power, etc. ) . Examples of such multiple-access technologies include code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, time division multiple access (TDMA) systems, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) systems, orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) systems, time division synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) systems, and Long Term Evolution (LTE) . LTE / LTE-Advanced is a set of enhancements to the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) mobile standard promulgated by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) .

[0005] A wireless network may include one or more network nodes that support communication for wireless communication devices, such as a user equipment (UE) or multiple UEs. A UE may communicate with a network node via downlink communications and uplink communications. “Downlink” (or “DL” ) refers to a communication link from the network node to the UE, and “uplink” (or “UL” ) refers to a communication link from the UE to the network node. Some wireless networks may support device-to-device communication, such as via a local link (e.g., a sidelink (SL) , a wireless local area network (WLAN) link, and / or a wireless personal area network (WPAN) link, among other examples) .

[0006] These multiple access technologies have been adopted in various telecommunication standards to provide a common protocol that enables different UEs  to communicate on a municipal, national, regional, or global level. New Radio (NR) , which also may be referred to as 5G, is a set of enhancements to the LTE mobile standard promulgated by the 3GPP. NR is designed to better support mobile broadband internet access by improving spectral efficiency, lowering costs, improving services, making use of new spectrum, and better integrating with other open standards using orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) with a cyclic prefix (CP) (CP-OFDM) on the downlink, using CP-OFDM or single-carrier frequency division multiplexing (SC-FDM) (also known as discrete Fourier transform spread OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM) ) on the uplink, as well as supporting beamforming, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna technology, and carrier aggregation.SUMMARY

[0025] A physical resource block (PRB) of a common interlace and a dedicated PRB may be located within a same bandwidth (e.g., a one megahertz (MHz) bandwidth) . A user equipment (UE) may transmit on only the dedicated PRB, if transmitting on only the dedicated PRB would satisfy occupied channel bandwidth (OCB) requirements. However, the UE may transmit multiple simultaneous physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions, and multiple dedicated PRBs may be located within the same one MHz bandwidth. In this case, the UE may not be configured to handle the power spectral density (PSD) limit for the multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions and / or the multiple dedicated PRBs located within the same one MHz bandwidth. Further, the UE may not be configured to allocate a transmit power among the multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions. As a result, the UE may not be able to handle the multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions when the multiple dedicated PRBs are located within the same one MHz bandwidth, which may degrade an overall performance of the UE. Further, a dedicated PRB and a PRB of a common interlace may be located at one edge of a resource block (RB) set. For example, the dedicated physical resource (PR) and / or the PRB of the common interlace may be the closest PRB(s) to an edge of the RB set. In this case, the UE may not be configured to allocate a transmit power between the dedicated PRB and the PRB of the common interlace, which may degrade an overall performance of the UE.

[0026] Various aspects relate generally to PSFCH transmissions. Some aspects more specifically relate to a power allocation for PSFCH transmissions in sidelink unlicensed (SL-U) . In some examples, a UE may identify a plurality of PSFCH transmissions for simultaneous transmission associated with a bandwidth. The bandwidth may be associated with one or more dedicated PRBs and a common interlace. The UE may identify one or more of a power allocation, an OCB requirement, or a PSD limit associated with a PSFCH transmission of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions. The UE may transmit the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation, the OCB requirement, or the PSD limit. In some examples, the UE may identify a power allocation associated with the PSFCH transmission and transmit the PSFCH  transmission based at least in part on the power allocation. In some examples, the UE may prioritize one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions to be simultaneously transmitted based at least in part on the OCB requirement and the PSD limit.

[0027] Aspects of the subject matter described in this disclosure can be implemented to realize one or more of the following potential advantages. In some examples, by transmitting the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation, the described techniques may be used to allocate transmit power and / or comply with regulatory constraints, such as an OCB requirement or a PSD limit. In some examples, transmitting the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation may enable the UE to appropriately allocate transmit power when multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions associated with the bandwidth associated with the one or more dedicated PRBs and the PRB of the common interlace are present. Transmitting the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the OCB requirement or the PSD limit may enable the UE to ensure that the PSFCH transmission complies with the OCB requirement or the PSD limit.

[0028] Various aspects of the disclosure are described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings. This disclosure may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to any specific structure or function presented throughout this disclosure. Rather, these aspects are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the disclosure to those skilled in the art. One skilled in the art should appreciate that the scope of the disclosure is intended to cover any aspect of the disclosure disclosed herein, whether implemented independently of or combined with any other aspect of the disclosure. For example, an apparatus may be implemented or a method may be practiced using any number of the aspects set forth herein. In addition, the scope of the disclosure is intended to cover such an apparatus or method which is practiced using other structure, functionality, or structure and functionality in addition to or other than the various aspects of the disclosure set forth herein. It should be understood that any aspect of the disclosure disclosed herein may be embodied by one or more elements of a claim.

[0029] Several aspects of telecommunication systems will now be presented with reference to various apparatuses and techniques. These apparatuses and techniques will be described in the following detailed description and illustrated in the accompanying  drawings by various blocks, modules, components, circuits, steps, processes, algorithms, or the like (collectively referred to as “elements” ) . These elements may be implemented using hardware, software, or combinations thereof. Whether such elements are implemented as hardware or software depends upon the application and design constraints imposed on the overall system.

[0030] While aspects may be described herein using terminology commonly associated with a 5G or New Radio (NR) radio access technology (RAT) , aspects of the present disclosure can be applied to other RATs, such as a 3G RAT, a 4G RAT, and / or a RAT subsequent to 5G (e.g., 6G) .

[0031] Fig. 1 is a diagram illustrating an example of a wireless network 100. The wireless network 100 may be or may include elements of a 5G (for example, NR) network or a 4G (for example, Long Term Evolution (LTE) ) network, among other examples. The wireless network 100 may include one or more network nodes 110 (shown as a network node 110a, a network node 110b, a network node 110c, and a network node 110d) , a UE 120 or multiple UEs 120 (shown as a UE 120a, a UE 120b, a UE 120c, a UE 120d, and a UE 120e) , or other entities. A network node 110 is an example of a network node that communicates with UEs 120. As shown, a network node 110 may include one or more network nodes. For example, a network node 110 may be an aggregated network node, meaning that the aggregated network node is configured to utilize a radio protocol stack that is physically or logically integrated within a single RAN node (for example, within a single device or unit) . As another example, a network node 110 may be a disaggregated network node (sometimes referred to as a disaggregated base station) , meaning that the network node 110 is configured to utilize a protocol stack that is physically or logically distributed among two or more nodes (such as one or more central units (CUs) , one or more distributed units (DUs) , or one or more radio units (RUs) ) .

[0032] In some examples, a network node 110 is or includes a network node that communicates with UEs 120 via a radio access link, such as an RU. In some examples, a network node 110 is or includes a network node that communicates with other network nodes 110 via a fronthaul link or a midhaul link, such as a DU. In some examples, a network node 110 is or includes a network node that communicates with other network nodes 110 via a midhaul link or a core network via a backhaul link, such as a CU. In some examples, a network node 110 (such as an aggregated network node 110 or a disaggregated network node 110) may include multiple network nodes, such as  one or more RUs, one or more CUs, and / or one or more DUs. A network node 110 may include, for example, an NR base station, an LTE base station, a Node B, an eNB (for example, in 4G) , a gNB (for example, in 5G) , an access point, or a transmission reception point (TRP) , a DU, an RU, a CU, a mobility element of a network, a core network node, a network element, a network equipment, a RAN node, or a combination thereof. In some examples, the network nodes 110 may be interconnected to one another or to one or more other network nodes 110 in the wireless network 100 through various types of fronthaul, midhaul, and / or backhaul interfaces, such as a direct physical connection, an air interface, or a virtual network, using any suitable transport network.

[0033] In some examples, a network node 110 may provide communication coverage for a geographic area. In the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) , the term “cell” can refer to a coverage area of a network node 110 or a network node subsystem serving this coverage area, depending on the context in which the term is used. A network node 110 may provide communication coverage for a macro cell, a pico cell, a femto cell, or another type of cell. A macro cell may cover a relatively large geographic area (for example, several kilometers in radius) and may allow unrestricted access by UEs 120 with service subscriptions. A pico cell may cover a relatively small geographic area and may allow unrestricted access by UEs 120 with service subscription. A femto cell may cover a relatively small geographic area (for example, a home) and may allow restricted access by UEs 120 having association with the femto cell (for example, UEs 120 in a closed subscriber group (CSG) ) . A network node 110 for a macro cell may be referred to as a macro network node. A network node 110 for a pico cell may be referred to as a pico network node. A network node 110 for a femto cell may be referred to as a femto network node or an in-home network node. In the example shown in Fig. 1, the network node 110a may be a macro network node for a macro cell 102a, the network node 110b may be a pico network node for a pico cell 102b, and the network node 110c may be a femto network node for a femto cell 102c. A network node may support one or multiple (for example, three) cells. In some examples, a cell may not necessarily be stationary, and the geographic area of the cell may move according to the location of a network node 110 that is mobile (for example, a mobile network node) .

[0034] In some aspects, the terms “base station” or “network node” may refer to an aggregated base station, a disaggregated base station, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, a relay node, or one or more components thereof. For example, in some  aspects, “base station” or “network node” may refer to a CU, a DU, an RU, a Near-Real Time (Near-RT) RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) , or a Non-Real Time (Non-RT) RIC, or a combination thereof. In some aspects, the terms “base station” or “network node” may refer to one device configured to perform one or more functions, such as those described herein in connection with the network node 110. In some aspects, the terms “base station” or “network node” may refer to a plurality of devices configured to perform the one or more functions. For example, in some distributed systems, each of a number of different devices (which may be located in the same geographic location or in different geographic locations) may be configured to perform at least a portion of a function, or to duplicate performance of at least a portion of the function, and the terms “base station” or “network node” may refer to any one or more of those different devices. In some aspects, the terms “base station” or “network node” may refer to one or more virtual base stations or one or more virtual base station functions. For example, in some aspects, two or more base station functions may be instantiated on a single device. In some aspects, the terms “base station” or “network node” may refer to one of the base station functions and not another. In this way, a single device may include more than one base station.

[0035] The wireless network 100 may include one or more relay stations. A relay station is a network node that can receive a transmission of data from an upstream node (for example, a network node 110 or a UE 120) and send a transmission of the data to a downstream node (for example, a UE 120 or a network node 110) . A relay station may be a UE 120 that can relay transmissions for other UEs 120. In the example shown in Fig. 1, the network node 110d (for example, a relay network node) may communicate with the network node 110a (for example, a macro network node) and the UE 120d in order to facilitate communication between the network node 110a and the UE 120d. A network node 110 that relays communications may be referred to as a relay station, a relay base station, a relay network node, a relay node, or a relay, among other examples.

[0036] The wireless network 100 may be a heterogeneous network that includes network nodes 110 of different types, such as macro network nodes, pico network nodes, femto network nodes, or relay network nodes. These different types of network nodes 110 may have different transmit power levels, different coverage areas, or different impacts on interference in the wireless network 100. For example, macro network nodes may have a high transmit power level (for example, 5 to 40 watts)  whereas pico network nodes, femto network nodes, and relay network nodes may have lower transmit power levels (for example, 0.1 to 2 watts) .

[0037] A network controller 130 may couple to or communicate with a set of network nodes 110 and may provide coordination and control for these network nodes 110. The network controller 130 may communicate with the network nodes 110 via a backhaul communication link or a midhaul communication link. The network nodes 110 may communicate with one another directly or indirectly via a wireless or wireline backhaul communication link. In some aspects, the network controller 130 may be a CU or a core network device, or may include a CU or a core network device.

[0038] The UEs 120 may be dispersed throughout the wireless network 100, and each UE 120 may be stationary or mobile. A UE 120 may include, for example, an access terminal, a terminal, a mobile station, or a subscriber unit. A UE 120 may be a cellular phone (for example, a smart phone) , a personal digital assistant (PDA) , a wireless modem, a wireless communication device, a handheld device, a laptop computer, a cordless phone, a wireless local loop (WLL) station, a tablet, a camera, a gaming device, a netbook, a smartbook, an ultrabook, a medical device, a biometric device, a wearable device (for example, a smart watch, smart clothing, smart glasses, a smart wristband, smart jewelry (for example, a smart ring or a smart bracelet) ) , an entertainment device (for example, a music device, a video device, or a satellite radio) , a vehicular component or sensor, a smart meter / sensor, industrial manufacturing equipment, a global positioning system device, a UE function of a network node, or any other suitable device that is configured to communicate via a wireless or wired medium.

[0039] Some UEs 120 may be considered machine-type communication (MTC) or evolved or enhanced machine-type communication (eMTC) UEs. An MTC UE or an eMTC UE may include, for example, a robot, an unmanned aerial vehicle, a remote device, a sensor, a meter, a monitor, or a location tag, that may communicate with a network node, another device (for example, a remote device) , or some other entity. Some UEs 120 may be considered Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices, or may be implemented as NB-IoT (narrowband IoT) devices. Some UEs 120 may be considered a Customer Premises Equipment. A UE 120 may be included inside a housing that houses components of the UE 120, such as processor components or memory components. In some examples, the processor components and the memory components may be coupled together. For example, the processor components (for example, one or more processors) and the memory components (for example, a  memory) may be operatively coupled, communicatively coupled, electronically coupled, or electrically coupled.

[0040] In general, any number of wireless networks 100 may be deployed in a given geographic area. Each wireless network 100 may support a RAT and may operate on one or more frequencies. A RAT may be referred to as a radio technology or an air interface. A frequency may be referred to as a carrier or a frequency channel. Each frequency may support a single RAT in a given geographic area in order to avoid interference between wireless networks of different RATs. In some cases, NR or 5G RAT networks may be deployed.

[0041] In some examples, two or more UEs 120 (for example, shown as UE 120a and UE 120e) may communicate directly using one or more sidelink channels (for example, without using a network node 110 as an intermediary to communicate with one another) . For example, the UEs 120 may communicate using peer-to-peer (P2P) communications, device-to-device (D2D) communications, a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) protocol (for example, which may include a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) protocol, a vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) protocol, or a vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) protocol) , or a mesh network. In such examples, a UE 120 may perform scheduling operations, resource selection operations, or other operations described elsewhere herein as being performed by the network node 110.

[0042] Devices of the wireless network 100 may communicate using the electromagnetic spectrum, which may be subdivided by frequency or wavelength into various classes, bands, or channels. For example, devices of the wireless network 100 may communicate using one or more operating bands. In 5G NR, two initial operating bands have been identified as frequency range designations FR1 (410 MHz –7.125 GHz) and FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) . Although a portion of FR1 is greater than 6 GHz, FR1 is often referred to (interchangeably) as a “Sub-6 GHz” band in various documents and articles. A similar nomenclature issue sometimes occurs with regard to FR2, which is often referred to (interchangeably) as a “millimeter wave” band in documents and articles, despite being different from the extremely high frequency (EHF) band (30 GHz –300 GHz) which is identified by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) as a “millimeter wave” band.

[0043] The frequencies between FR1 and FR2 are often referred to as mid-band frequencies. Recent 5G NR studies have identified an operating band for these mid-band frequencies as frequency range designation FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) .  Frequency bands falling within FR3 may inherit FR1 characteristics or FR2 characteristics, and thus may effectively extend features of FR1 or FR2 into mid-band frequencies. In addition, higher frequency bands are currently being explored to extend 5G NR operation beyond 52.6 GHz. For example, three higher operating bands have been identified as frequency range designations FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . Each of these higher frequency bands falls within the EHF band.

[0044] With these examples in mind, unless specifically stated otherwise, the term “sub-6 GHz, ” if used herein, may broadly represent frequencies that may be less than 6 GHz, may be within FR1, or may include mid-band frequencies. Further, unless specifically stated otherwise, the term “millimeter wave, ” if used herein, may broadly represent frequencies that may include mid-band frequencies, may be within FR2, FR4, FR4-a or FR4-1, or FR5, or may be within the EHF band. It is contemplated that the frequencies included in these operating bands (for example, FR1, FR2, FR3, FR4, FR4-a, FR4-1, or FR5) may be modified, and techniques described herein are applicable to those modified frequency ranges.

[0045] In some aspects, the UE 120 may include a communication manager 140. As described in more detail elsewhere herein, the communication manager 140 may identify a plurality of PSFCH transmissions for simultaneous transmission associated with a bandwidth, wherein the bandwidth is associated with one or more dedicated PRBs and a common interlace; identify one or more of a power allocation, an OCB requirement, or a PSD limit associated with a PSFCH transmission of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions; and transmit the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation, the OCB requirement, or the PSD limit. Additionally, or alternatively, the communication manager 140 may perform one or more other operations described herein.

[0046] As indicated above, Fig. 1 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with regard to Fig. 1.

[0047] Fig. 2 is a diagram illustrating an example 200 of a network node 110 in communication with a UE 120 in a wireless network 100. The network node 110 may be equipped with a set of antennas 234a through 234t, such as T antennas (T ≥ 1) . The UE 120 may be equipped with a set of antennas 252a through 252r, such as R antennas (R ≥ 1) . The network node 110 of example 200 includes one or more radio frequency components, such as antennas 234 and a modem 232. In some examples, a network  node 110 may include an interface, a communication component, or another component that facilitates communication with the UE 120 or another network node. Some network nodes 110 may not include radio frequency components that facilitate direct communication with the UE 120, such as one or more CUs, or one or more DUs.

[0061] In some aspects, an individual processor may perform all of the functions described as being performed by the one or more processors. In some aspects, one or more processors may collectively perform a set of functions. For example, a first set of (one or more) processors of the one or more processors may perform a first function described as being performed by the one or more processors, and a second set of (one or more) processors of the one or more processors may perform a second function described as being performed by the one or more processors. The first set of processors and the second set of processors may be the same set of processors or may be different sets of processors. Reference to “one or more processors” should be understood to refer to any one or more of the processors described in connection with Fig. 2. Reference to “one or more memories” should be understood to refer to any one or more memories of a corresponding device, such as the memory described in connection with Fig. 2. For example, functions described as being performed by one or more memories can be performed by the same subset of the one or more memories or different subsets of the one or more memories.

[0062] As indicated above, Fig. 2 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with regard to Fig. 2.

[0063] Deployment of communication systems, such as 5G NR systems, may be arranged in multiple manners with various components or constituent parts. In a 5G NR system, or network, a network node, a network entity, a mobility element of a network, a RAN node, a core network node, a network element, a base station, or a network equipment may be implemented in an aggregated or disaggregated architecture. For example, a base station (such as a Node B (NB) , an evolved NB (eNB) , an NR base station, a 5G NB, an access point (AP) , a TRP, or a cell, among other examples) , or one or more units (or one or more components) performing base station functionality, may be implemented as an aggregated base station (also known as a standalone base station or a monolithic base station) or a disaggregated base station. “Network entity” or “network node” may refer to a disaggregated base station, or to one or more units of a disaggregated base station (such as one or more CUs, one or more DUs, one or more RUs, or a combination thereof) .

[0064] An aggregated base station (e.g., an aggregated network node) may be configured to utilize a radio protocol stack that is physically or logically integrated  within a single RAN node (for example, within a single device or unit) . A disaggregated base station (e.g., a disaggregated network node) may be configured to utilize a protocol stack that is physically or logically distributed among two or more units (such as one or more CUs, one or more DUs, or one or more RUs) . In some examples, a CU may be implemented within a network node, and one or more DUs may be co-located with the CU, or alternatively, may be geographically or virtually distributed throughout one or multiple other network nodes. The DUs may be implemented to communicate with one or more RUs. Each of the CU, DU, and RU also can be implemented as virtual units, such as a virtual central unit (VCU) , a virtual distributed unit (VDU) , or a virtual radio unit (VRU) , among other examples.

[0065] Base station-type operation or network design may consider aggregation characteristics of base station functionality. For example, disaggregated base stations may be utilized in an IAB network, an open radio access network (O-RAN (such as the network configuration sponsored by the O-RAN Alliance) ) , or a virtualized radio access network (vRAN, also known as a cloud radio access network (C-RAN) ) to facilitate scaling of communication systems by separating base station functionality into one or more units that can be individually deployed. A disaggregated base station may include functionality implemented across two or more units at various physical locations, as well as functionality implemented for at least one unit virtually, which can enable flexibility in network design. The various units of the disaggregated base station can be configured for wired or wireless communication with at least one other unit of the disaggregated base station.

[0066] Fig. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example disaggregated base station architecture 300, in accordance with the present disclosure. The disaggregated base station architecture 300 may include a CU 310 that can communicate directly with a core network 320 via a backhaul link, or indirectly with the core network 320 through one or more disaggregated control units (such as a Near-RT RIC 325 via an E2 link, or a Non-RT RIC 315 associated with a Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) Framework 305, or both) . A CU 310 may communicate with one or more DUs 330 via respective midhaul links, such as through F1 interfaces. Each of the DUs 330 may communicate with one or more RUs 340 via respective fronthaul links. Each of the RUs 340 may communicate with one or more UEs 120 via respective radio frequency (RF) access links. In some implementations, a UE 120 may be simultaneously served by multiple RUs 340.

[0067] Each of the units, including the CUs 310, the DUs 330, the RUs 340, as well as the Near-RT RICs 325, the Non-RT RICs 315, and the SMO Framework 305, may include one or more interfaces or be coupled with one or more interfaces configured to receive or transmit signals, data, or information (collectively, signals) via a wired or wireless transmission medium. Each of the units, or an associated processor or controller providing instructions to one or multiple communication interfaces of the respective unit, can be configured to communicate with one or more of the other units via the transmission medium. In some examples, each of the units can include a wired interface, configured to receive or transmit signals over a wired transmission medium to one or more of the other units, and a wireless interface, which may include a receiver, a transmitter or transceiver (such as a RF transceiver) , configured to receive or transmit signals, or both, over a wireless transmission medium to one or more of the other units.

[0068] In some aspects, the CU 310 may host one or more higher layer control functions. Such control functions can include radio resource control (RRC) functions, packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) functions, or service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) functions, among other examples. Each control function can be implemented with an interface configured to communicate signals with other control functions hosted by the CU 310. The CU 310 may be configured to handle user plane functionality (for example, Central Unit –User Plane (CU-UP) functionality) , control plane functionality (for example, Central Unit –Control Plane (CU-CP) functionality) , or a combination thereof. In some implementations, the CU 310 can be logically split into one or more CU-UP units and one or more CU-CP units. A CU-UP unit can communicate bidirectionally with a CU-CP unit via an interface, such as the E1 interface when implemented in an O-RAN configuration. The CU 310 can be implemented to communicate with a DU 330, as necessary, for network control and signaling.

[0069] Each DU 330 may correspond to a logical unit that includes one or more base station functions to control the operation of one or more RUs 340. In some aspects, the DU 330 may host one or more of a radio link control (RLC) layer, a medium access control (MAC) layer, and one or more high physical (PHY) layers depending, at least in part, on a functional split, such as a functional split defined by the 3GPP. In some aspects, the one or more high PHY layers may be implemented by one or more modules for forward error correction (FEC) encoding and decoding, scrambling, and modulation and demodulation, among other examples. In some aspects, the DU 330 may further host one or more low PHY layers, such as implemented by one or more modules for a  fast Fourier transform (FFT) , an inverse FFT (iFFT) , digital beamforming, or physical random access channel (PRACH) extraction and filtering, among other examples. Each layer (which also may be referred to as a module) can be implemented with an interface configured to communicate signals with other layers (and modules) hosted by the DU 330, or with the control functions hosted by the CU 310.

[0070] Each RU 340 may implement lower-layer functionality. In some deployments, an RU 340, controlled by a DU 330, may correspond to a logical node that hosts RF processing functions or low-PHY layer functions, such as performing an FFT, performing an iFFT, digital beamforming, or PRACH extraction and filtering, among other examples, based on a functional split (for example, a functional split defined by the 3GPP) , such as a lower layer functional split. In such an architecture, each RU 340 can be operated to handle over the air (OTA) communication with one or more UEs 120. In some implementations, real-time and non-real-time aspects of control and user plane communication with the RU (s) 340 can be controlled by the corresponding DU 330. In some scenarios, this configuration can enable each DU 330 and the CU 310 to be implemented in a cloud-based RAN architecture, such as a vRAN architecture.

[0071] The SMO Framework 305 may be configured to support RAN deployment and provisioning of non-virtualized and virtualized network elements. For non-virtualized network elements, the SMO Framework 305 may be configured to support the deployment of dedicated physical resources for RAN coverage requirements, which may be managed via an operations and maintenance interface (such as an O1 interface) . For virtualized network elements, the SMO Framework 305 may be configured to interact with a cloud computing platform (such as an open cloud (O-Cloud) platform 390) to perform network element life cycle management (such as to instantiate virtualized network elements) via a cloud computing platform interface (such as an O2 interface) . Such virtualized network elements can include, but are not limited to, CUs 310, DUs 330, RUs 340, non-RT RICs 315, and Near-RT RICs 325. In some implementations, the SMO Framework 305 can communicate with a hardware aspect of a 4G RAN, such as an open eNB (O-eNB) 311, via an O1 interface. Additionally, in some implementations, the SMO Framework 305 can communicate directly with each of one or more RUs 340 via a respective O1 interface. The SMO Framework 305 also may include a Non-RT RIC 315 configured to support functionality of the SMO Framework 305.

[0072] The Non-RT RIC 315 may be configured to include a logical function that enables non-real-time control and optimization of RAN elements and resources, Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI / ML) workflows including model training and updates, or policy-based guidance of applications / features in the Near-RT RIC 325. The Non-RT RIC 315 may be coupled to or communicate with (such as via an A1 interface) the Near-RT RIC 325. The Near-RT RIC 325 may be configured to include a logical function that enables near-real-time control and optimization of RAN elements and resources via data collection and actions over an interface (such as via an E2 interface) connecting one or more CUs 310, one or more DUs 330, or both, as well as an O-eNB, with the Near-RT RIC 325.

[0073] In some implementations, to generate AI / ML models to be deployed in the Near-RT RIC 325, the Non-RT RIC 315 may receive parameters or external enrichment information from external servers. Such information may be utilized by the Near-RT RIC 325 and may be received at the SMO Framework 305 or the Non-RT RIC 315 from non-network data sources or from network functions. In some examples, the Non-RT RIC 315 or the Near-RT RIC 325 may be configured to tune RAN behavior or performance. For example, the Non-RT RIC 315 may monitor long-term trends and patterns for performance and employ AI / ML models to perform corrective actions through the SMO Framework 305 (such as reconfiguration via an O1 interface) or via creation of RAN management policies (such as A1 interface policies) .

[0074] As indicated above, Fig. 3 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with regard to Fig. 3.

[0075] Fig. 4 is a diagram illustrating an example 400 of sidelink communications, in accordance with the present disclosure.

[0076] As shown in Fig. 4, a first UE 405-1 may communicate with a second UE 405-2 (and one or more other UEs 405) via one or more sidelink channels 410. The UEs 405-1 and 405-2 may communicate using the one or more sidelink channels 410 for P2P communications, D2D communications, V2X communications (e.g., which may include V2V communications, V2I communications, and / or V2P communications) and / or mesh networking. In some aspects, the UEs 405 (e.g., UE 405-1 and / or UE 405-2) may correspond to one or more other UEs described elsewhere herein, such as UE 120. In some aspects, the one or more sidelink channels 410 may use a PC5 interface and / or may operate in a high frequency band (e.g., the 5.9 GHz band) . Additionally, or alternatively, the UEs 405 may synchronize timing of transmission time intervals (TTIs)  (e.g., frames, subframes, slots, or symbols) using global navigation satellite system (GNSS) timing.

[0077] As further shown in Fig. 4, the one or more sidelink channels 410 may include a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) 415, a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) 420, and / or a PSFCH 425. The PSCCH 415 may be used to communicate control information, similar to a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and / or a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) used for cellular communications with a network node 110 via an access link or an access channel. The PSSCH 420 may be used to communicate data, similar to a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and / or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) used for cellular communications with a network node 110 via an access link or an access channel. For example, the PSCCH 415 may carry sidelink control information (SCI) 430, which may indicate various control information used for sidelink communications, such as one or more resources (e.g., time resources, frequency resources, and / or spatial resources) where a transport block (TB) 435 may be carried on the PSSCH 420. The TB 435 may include data. The PSFCH 425 may be used to communicate sidelink feedback 440, such as hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback (e.g., acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement (ACK / NACK) information) , transmit power control (TPC) , and / or a scheduling request (SR) .

[0078] Although shown on the PSCCH 415, in some aspects, the SCI 430 may include multiple communications in different stages, such as a first stage SCI (SCI-1) and a second stage SCI (SCI-2) . The SCI-1 may be transmitted on the PSCCH 415. The SCI-2 may be transmitted on the PSSCH 420. The SCI-1 may include, for example, an indication of one or more resources (e.g., time resources, frequency resources, and / or spatial resources) on the PSSCH 420, information for decoding sidelink communications on the PSSCH, a quality of service (QoS) priority value, a resource reservation period, a PSSCH demodulation reference signal (DMRS) pattern, an SCI format for the SCI-2, a beta offset for the SCI-2, a number of PSSCH DMRS ports, and / or a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) . The SCI-2 may include information associated with data transmissions on the PSSCH 420, such as a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process ID, a new data indicator (NDI) , a source identifier, a destination identifier, and / or a channel state information (CSI) report trigger.

[0079] In some aspects, the one or more sidelink channels 410 may use resource pools. For example, a scheduling assignment (e.g., included in SCI 430) may be transmitted in sub-channels using specific resource blocks (RBs) across time. In some aspects, data transmissions (e.g., on the PSSCH 420) associated with a scheduling assignment may occupy adjacent RBs in the same subframe as the scheduling assignment (e.g., using frequency division multiplexing) . In some aspects, a scheduling assignment and associated data transmissions are not transmitted on adjacent RBs.

[0080] In some aspects, a UE 405 may operate using a sidelink transmission mode (e.g., Mode 1) where resource selection and / or scheduling is performed by a network node 110 (e.g., a base station, a CU, or a DU) . For example, the UE 405 may receive a grant (e.g., in downlink control information (DCI) or in a RRC message, such as for configured grants) from the network node 110 (e.g., directly or via one or more network nodes) for sidelink channel access and / or scheduling. In some aspects, a UE 405 may operate using a transmission mode (e.g., Mode 2) where resource selection and / or scheduling is performed by the UE 405 (e.g., rather than a network node 110) . In some aspects, the UE 405 may perform resource selection and / or scheduling by sensing channel availability for transmissions. For example, the UE 405 may measure a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) parameter (e.g., a sidelink-RSSI (S-RSSI) parameter) associated with various sidelink channels, may measure a reference signal received power (RSRP) parameter (e.g., a PSSCH-RSRP parameter) associated with various sidelink channels, and / or may measure a reference signal received quality (RSRQ) parameter (e.g., a PSSCH-RSRQ parameter) associated with various sidelink channels, and may select a channel for transmission of a sidelink communication based at least in part on the measurement (s) .

[0081] Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 405 may perform resource selection and / or scheduling using SCI 430 received in the PSCCH 415, which may indicate occupied resources and / or channel parameters. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 405 may perform resource selection and / or scheduling by determining a channel busy ratio (CBR) associated with various sidelink channels, which may be used for rate control (e.g., by indicating a maximum number of resource blocks that the UE 405 can use for a set of subframes) .

[0082] In the transmission mode where resource selection and / or scheduling is performed by a UE 405, the UE 405 may generate sidelink grants, and may transmit the grants in SCI 430. A sidelink grant may indicate, for example, one or more parameters  (e.g., transmission parameters) to be used for an upcoming sidelink transmission, such as one or more resource blocks to be used for the upcoming sidelink transmission on the PSSCH 420 (e.g., for TBs 435) , one or more subframes to be used for the upcoming sidelink transmission, and / or a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) to be used for the upcoming sidelink transmission. In some aspects, a UE 405 may generate a sidelink grant that indicates one or more parameters for semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) , such as a periodicity of a sidelink transmission. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 405 may generate a sidelink grant for event-driven scheduling, such as for an on-demand sidelink message.

[0083] As indicated above, Fig. 4 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with respect to Fig. 4.

[0084] When a downlink pathloss based power control for PSFCH (dl-P0-PSFCH) parameter is provided to a UE, a required transmission (Tx) power (PPSFCH, one) for the UE to transmit a PSFCH may be calculated based at least in part on: PPSFCH, one= PO, PSFCH+10log10 (2μ) +αPSFCH·PL [dBm] , where PO, PSFCH is a value of dl-P0-PSFCH, αPSFCH is an alpha value for downlink pathloss based power control for PSFCH when dl-P0-PSFCH is configured (dl-Alpha-PSFCH) (when provided, or else αPFSCH=1) , and a pathloss PL=PLb, f, c (qd) when an active sidelink bandwidth part (BWP) is on a serving cell c. A reference signal resource may be the one the UE uses to determine a power of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission scheduled by a downlink control information (DCI) format 0_0 in serving cell c, when the UE is configured to monitor a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) for detection of the DCI format 0_0 in serving cell c. The reference signal resource may be the one corresponding to a synchronization signal (SS) and physical broadcast channel (PBCH) block used by the UE to obtain a master information block (MIB) , when the UE is not configured to monitor the PDCCH for detection of the DCI format 0_0 in serving cell c.

[0085] When the UE supports up to Nmax, PSFCH simultaneous PSFCH transmissions in a PSFCH transmission occasion, and when the UE has Nxch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs to be transmitted in a given PSFCH transmission occasion, the UE may select NTx, PSFCH PSFCHs for actual transmission with an ascending order of corresponding priority field values in a PSFCH transmission occasion.

[0086] When Nsch, Tx, PSFCH ≤ Nmax, PSFCH and dl-P0-PSFCH is configured, and when a total transmission power of Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs is equal to or less than PCMAX (e.g., PPSFCH, one + 10log10 (Nsch, Tx, PSFCH) ≤ PCMAX) , then NTx, PSFCH = Nsch, Tx, PSFCH and PPSFCH, k (i) = PPSFCH, one [dBm] ) . Here, PCMAX may indicate a maximum UE transmission power.

[0087] Otherwise, the UE may autonomously determine NTx, PSFCH PSFCH transmissions, first with an ascending order of corresponding priority field values over the PSFCH transmissions with hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information, if any, and then with an ascending order of priority field values over the PSFCH transmissions with conflict information, if any. In this case,  where Mi, for 1 ≤ i ≤ 8, is a number of PSFCHs with priority value i for PSFCH with HARQ-ACK information and Mi, for i > 8, is a number of PSFCHs with priority value i -8 for PSFCH with conflict information. Further, K may be defined as a largest value satisfying where PCMAX is determined for transmission of all PSFCHs in if any, or K may be defined as zero otherwise.

[0088] Further, a PSFCH transmit power may be represented by: PPSFCH, k (i) = min (PCMAX -10log10 (NTx, PSFCH) , PPSFCH, one) [dBm] , where PCMAX -10log10 (NTx, PSFCH) is associated with an allowed transmission power, and PPSFCH, one is associated with a required transmission power.

[0089] When Nsch, Tx, PSFCH > Nmax, PSFCH and dl-P0-PSFCH is configured, the UE may first select Nmax, PSFCH PSFCHs in an ascending order of corresponding priority field values over the PSFCH transmissions with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and then with an ascending order of priority value over the PSFCH transmissions with conflict information. When the total transmission power of Nmax, PSFCH PSFCHs is equal to or less than PCMAX (e.g., PPSFCH, one + 10log10 (Nmax, PSFCH) ≤ PCMAX) , then NTx, PSFCH = Nmax, PSFCH and PPSFCH, k (i) = PPSFCH, one [dBm] .

[0090] Otherwise, the UE may autonomously select NTx, PSFCH PSFCH transmissions in an ascending order of corresponding priority field values over the PSFCH transmissions with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and then with an ascending order of priority field values over the PSFCH transmissions with conflict information, if any. In this case,  where Mi, 1 ≤ i ≤ 8, is a number of  PSFCHs with priority value i for PSFCH with HARQ-ACK information and Mi, i>8, is a number of PSFCHs with priority value i-8 for PSFCH with conflict information. Further, K may be defined as a largest value satisfying where PCMAX is determined for transmission of all PSFCHs in if any, or K may be defined as zero otherwise. The PSFCH transmit power may be represented by: PPSFCH, k (i) =min (PCMAX-10log10 (NTx, PSFCH) , PPSFCH, one) [dBm] .

[0091] When dl-P0-PSFCH is not configured, PPSFCH, k (i) =PCMAX-10log10 (NTx, PSFCH) [dBm] . The UE may autonomously determine the NTx, PSFCH PSFCH transmissions with an ascending order of corresponding priority field values over the PSFCH transmissions with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and then with an ascending order of priority field values over the PSFCH transmissions with conflict information, if any. In this case, NTx, PSFCH≥1 and PCMAX may be determined for the NTx, PSFCH PSFCH transmissions.

[0092] Regarding a PSFCH transmission in the NR SL-U spectrum, with a 15 kilohertz (kHz) subcarrier spacing (SCS) or a 30 kHz SCS, each PSFCH transmission may occupy one common interlace (which may contain more than one PRB) and K3 dedicated PRBs, where K3 is a configured value. The value range for K3 may include at least {1, 2, 5} . One or more guard band PRBs may be provided between the common PRB and dedicated PRB (s) . On the K3 dedicated PRB (s) , multiple cyclic shift (CS) pairs may be used, as in a legacy NR sidelink (SL) PSFCH transmission. When a PRB of a common interlace and a dedicated PRB are located within the same one MHz bandwidth, the UE may transmit only on the dedicated PRB, which may have an impact on meeting an occupied channel bandwidth (OCB) requirement.

[0093] Fig. 5 is a diagram illustrating an example 500 of an RB set configured for simultaneous PSFCH transmissions, in accordance with the present disclosure.

[0094] As shown in Fig. 5, the RB set may include a PRB of a common interlace and a dedicated PRB that are located within a same one MHz bandwidth. The UE may transmit on only the dedicated PRB, which may be based at least in part on satisfying an OCB requirement. For example, as shown, the UE may not drop a transmission on the PRB of the common interlace if dropping the transmission would cause an OCB to fall below an OCB threshold ( “cannot drop due to OCB requirement” ) . As further shown, the UE may drop other transmissions on other PRBs of the common interlace in the RB  set ( “drop the common PRB” ) if dropping the transmission would satisfy the OCB requirement.

[0095] However, the UE may transmit multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions, and multiple dedicated PRBs may be located within the same one MHz bandwidth. In this case, the UE may not be configured to handle a PSD limit for the multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions and / or the multiple dedicated PRBs located within the same one MHz bandwidth.

[0096] Further, the UE may not be configured to allocate a transmission power between a dedicated PRB and a common PRB that are located at one edge of an RB set (e.g., one or more of the dedicated PRB or the common PRB may be the closest PRB (s) to an edge of the RB set) . In this case, the UE may not be configured to allocate a transmit power between the dedicated PRB and the common PRB, which may degrade an overall performance of the UE.

[0097] As indicated above, Fig. 5 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with regard to Fig. 5.

[0098] Fig. 6 is a diagram illustrating an example 600 associated with power allocation for PSFCH transmissions, in accordance with the present disclosure. Example 600 includes communication between a UE 610 (e.g., UE 120a) and a UE 620 (e.g., UE 120e) . In some aspects, the UE 610 and the UE 620 may be included in a wireless network, such as wireless network 100. The UE 610 and the UE 620 may be associated with SL-U (e.g., the UE 610 and the UE 620 may communicate over one or more frequencies in the SL-U spectrum) .

[0099] As shown by reference number 630, the UE 610 may identify a plurality of PSFCH transmissions for simultaneous transmission associated with a bandwidth. The bandwidth may be associated with one or more dedicated PRBs and a common interlace. For example, the PSFCH transmissions may be scheduled for transmission within the bandwidth on the one or more dedicated PRBs and a PRB of the common interlace. In some examples, the bandwidth may be one MHz.

[0100] As shown by reference number 640, the UE 610 may identify one or more of a power allocation, an OCB requirement, or a PSD limit associated with a PSFCH  transmission of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions. The OCB requirement may mandate that at least 99%of the power should span at least 80%of the bandwidth. The PSD limit may be a maximum allowed PSD in a given bandwidth (e.g., a one MHz bandwidth) .

[0101] As shown by reference number 650, the UE 610 may transmit, and the UE 620 may receive, the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation, the OCB requirement, or the PSD limit. Transmitting the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation, the OCB requirement, or the PSD limit may enable the UE 610 to appropriately allocate transmit power when multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions associated with the bandwidth are present and / or ensure that the PSFCH transmission complies with the OCB requirement or the PSD limit.

[0102] In some aspects, the UE 610 may identify a power allocation associated with the PSFCH transmission and transmit the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation. For example, a power allocation for PSFCH transmissions may be redefined. Transmitting the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the power allocation may enable the UE to appropriately allocate transmit power when multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions associated with the bandwidth associated with the one or more dedicated PRBs and a PRB of the common interlace are present.

[0103] Several aspects for determining the power allocation are described herein. In a first aspect for determining the power allocation, the UE 610 may, based at least in part on the power allocation, allocate transmit power uniformly to the one or more dedicated PRBs and a PRB of the common interlace. For example, if dl-P0-PSFCH is provided, then the power per RB (e.g., dedicated PRB (s) and / or common PRB) may be PPSFCH, PRB = min (PCMAX-10 log10 (NPRB, comm +NTx, PSFCH·K3) , PPSFCH, one --10 log10 (NPRB, comm+ K3) ) , where PPSFCH, one = PO, PSFCH + 10 log10 (2μ · (K3 +NPRB, comm) ) + αPSFCH ·PL, NTx, PSFCH is the number of actual PSFCH transmissions, NTx, PSFCH ·K3 is the total number of dedicated PRBs, and the total number of common PRBs is NPRB, comm. For example, NPRB, comm may be the number of actual transmitted common PRBs after considering a dropping rule (e.g., a rule stipulating that the UE 610 transmits on only the dedicated PRB subject to meeting OCB requirements) . Ifdl-P0-PSFCH is not provided, then the power per RB may be PPSFCH, PRB = PCMAX -10 log10 (NPRB, comm + NTx, PSFCH ·K3) . Allocating the transmit power uniformly to  the one or more dedicated PRBs and the PRB of the common interlace based at least in part on the power allocation may be implemented readily.

[0104] At least two implementations are provided to satisfy the PSD limit in the first aspect. In the first implementation, the UE 610 may reduce the transmit power that has been uniformly allocated to the one or more dedicated PRBs and the PRB of the common interlace based at least in part on the PSD limit. For example, the UE 610 may lower the power of all RBs such that the PSFCH transmission (s) satisfy the PSD limit according to the following relation: PPSFCH, actual, PRB = min (PPSFCH, PRB, PPSD -10 log10 (Nmax, total, PRB, 1MHz) ) , where Nmax, total, PRB is the maximum number of RBs used for PSFCH transmission per UE within one MHz.

[0105] In the second implementation, the UE 610 may select the dedicated PRB (s) for one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions based at least in part on the PSD limit. For example, the UE 610 may autonomously determine the PSFCH transmissions, first in ascending order of priority field values, corresponding to the PSFCH transmissions, associated with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and then in ascending order of priority values, corresponding to the PSFCH transmissions, associated with conflict information.

[0106] In a second aspect for determining the power allocation, the UE 610 may, based at least in part on the power allocation, allocate transmit power uniformly to one MHz windows associated with the bandwidth. For example, the transmit power may be uniformly allocated per one MHz window per UE. If dl-P0-PSFCH is provided, then the required transmit power of a PSFCH transmission may be PPSFCH, one = PO, PSFCH +10 log10 (2μ (K3 + NPRB, comm) ) + αPSFCH ·PL. The required transmit power of the PSFCH transmission per RB may be PPSFCH, one, PRB = PPSFCH, one -10 log10 (K3 +NPRB, comm) . The transmitted power per one MHz window, accounting for the PSD limit, may be PUE, 1MHz = min (min (PCMAX -10 log10 (N1MHz) , PPSFCH, one, 1MHz) , PPSD) , where PPSFCH, one, 1MHz is the minimum / maximum power per UE among all one MHz windows based on PPSFCH, one, PRB, and N1MHz is the number of one MHz windows among PSFCH transmissions spanning the bandwidth of the UE 610 (e.g.,  ) . If dl-P0-PSFCH is not provided, then PUE, 1MHz = min (PCMAX -10 log10 (N1MHz) , PPSD) . The actual transmitted power per PRB may be PUE, 1MHz, PRB = PUE, 1MHz - 10 log1o (NPSFCH, PRB, 1MHz, i) , where NPSFCH, PRB, 1MHz iS the number of PRBs for PSFCH transmissions used by one UE (e.g., UE 610) within theith one MHz window. Allocating the transmit power uniformly to one MHz windows associated with the bandwidth based at least in part on the power allocation may increase the power allocated for the dedicated PRB (s) .

[0107] In a third aspect for determining the power allocation, the UE 610 may determine a first transmit power associated with a PRB of the common interlace, and, based at least in part on the determination of the first transmit power, determine one or more second transmit powers associated with the one or more dedicated PRBs. For example, the UE 610 may first determine the power on a PRB of the common interlace and subsequently determine the power on the dedicated PRB (s) . The transmitted power over the common interlace may be Pcomm = Pcomm, PRB + 10log10 (NPRB, comm) , where NPRB, comm is the number of actual transmitted PRBs of the common interlace and Pcomm, PRB = α ·PCMAX, where α > 1%. α may be predefined, PC5-configured, or RRC-configured.

[0108] If dl-P0-PSFCH is provided, then the power per dedicated PRB may be PPSFCH, dedi, PRB = min (min (PCMAx -Pcomm -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH ·K3) , PPSFCH, one -10 log10 (K3) ) , PPSD -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz) -β·Pcommon, PRB) , where PPSD represents the PSD limit, NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz is the number of actual transmitted PSFCH transmissions having a dedicated PRB located within the same one MHz window, and PPSFCH, one = PO, PSFCH + 10 log10 (2μ ·K3) + αPSFCH ·PL. Ifat least one dedicated PRB is overlapped with one PRB of a common interlace that cannot be dropped due to the OCB requirement, then β = 1. If at least one dedicated PRB is not overlapped with a PRB of a common interlace that cannot be dropped due to the OCB requirement, or if at least one dedicated PRB is overlapped with a PRB of the common interlace that can be dropped subject to the OCB requirement, then β =0. If dl-P0-PSFCH is not provided, then PPSFCH, dedi, PRB = min (PCMAX -Pcomm -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH ·K3) , PPSD -10log10 (NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz) -β·Pcommon, PRB) .

[0109] The UE 610 may adjust the transmit power on the PRB of the common interlace based at least in part on the power on the dedicated PRB (s) . If Pcomm, PRB >γPPSFCH, dedi, PRB, then the UE 610 may scale the power on the common PRB with a factor ρ such that Pcomm, PRB = ρPcomm, PRB, where γ and / or ρ may be predefined, PC5- configured, or RRC-configured. If Pcomm, PRB ≤ γPPSFCH, dedi, PRB, then Pcomm, PRB = α ·PCMAX. Determining the first transmit power and determining the one or more second transmit powers based at least in part on the determination of the first transmit power may enable the UE to allocate power for the dedicated PRB (s) and the PRB of the common interlace separately.

[0110] In a fourth aspect for determining the power allocation, the UE 610 may determine a transmit power associated with a PRB of the common interlace based at least in part on a transmit power associated with one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions. For example, the UE 610 may determine the transmit power on the common PRB based at least in part on the actual transmitted power. If dl-P0-PSFCH is provided, then the total transmitted power on the dedicated PRB (s) may be PPSFCH, PRB = min (min (Pcmax -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH·K3) , PPSFCH, one-10 log10 (K3) ) , PPSD-10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz) ) , where PPSFCH, one = PO, PSFCH + 10 log10 (2μ·K3) + αPSFCH ·PL. If dl-P0-PSFCH is not provided, then the total transmitted power on the dedicated PRB (s) may be PPSFCH, PRB= min (Pcmax -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH·K3) , PPSD-10 log1o (NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz) ) .

[0111] If the calculated power on all of the dedicated PRBs, PTX, dedicated = PPSFCH, PRB + 10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH ·K3) , is greater than or equal to PCMAX, then the power per common PRB is α ·PCMAX, where α > 1%. If dl-P0-PSFCH is provided, then the power per dedicated PRB may be PPSFCH, dedi, PRB = min (min (Pcmax -α·PCMAX-10log10 (NPRB, comm) -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH·K3) , PPSFCH, one -10 log10 (K3) ) , PPSD -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz) -β ·α ·PCMAX) . If dl-P0-PSFCH is not provided, then the power per dedicated PRB may be PPSFCH, dedi, PRB = min (Pcmax -α ·PCMAX -10log10 (NPRB, comm) -10 log1o (NTx, PSFCH ·K3) , PPSD -10 log1o (NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz) -β ·α ·PCMAX) .

[0112] If the calculated power on all dedicated PRBs, PTX, dedicated = PPSFCH, dedi, PRB + 10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH ·K3) , is leSS than PCMAX, then the power per common PRB may be Pcomm, PRB = PTX, dedicated + 10 log10 α -10log10 (1 -αNPRB, comm) . If PTX, dedicated + Pcomm, PRB+10log10 (NPRB, comm) is less than PCMAX, then PPSFCH, dedi, PRB = PPSFCH, PRB and Pcomm, PRB = PTX, dedicated + 10 log10 α -10 log10 (1 -αNPRB, comm) . If PTX, dedicated + Pcomm, PRB+10 log10 (NPRB, comm) is  greater than or equal to PCMAX, then Pcomm, PRB = α ·PCMAX. If PTX, dedicated+ Pcomm, PRB+10log10 (NPRB, comm) is greater than or equal to PCMAX and dl-P0-PSFCHis provided, then PPSFCH, dedi, PRB = min (min (Pcmax -α·PCMAX -10log10 (NPRB, comm) -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH ·K3) , PPsFCH, one -10 log10 (K3) ) , PPSD -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz) -β·α·PCMAX) . If PTX, dedicated +Pcomm, PRB+10log10 (NPRB, comm) is greater than or equal to PCMAX and dl-P0-PSFCH is not provided, then PPSFCH, dedi, PRB = min (Pcmax -α ·PCMAX -10log10 (NPRB, comm) -log10 (NTx, PSFCH ·K3) , PPSD -10 log10 (NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz) -β·α·PCMAX) . Determining the transmit power associated with the PRB of the common interlace based at least in part on the transmit power associated with the one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions may lower the power on the PRB of the common interlace (e.g., as low as possible) subject to the OCB requirement.

[0113] In some aspects, the UE 610 may prioritize one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions to be simultaneously transmitted based at least in part on the OCB requirement and the PSD limit. For example, the UE 610 may generate prioritizations for simultaneous PSFCH transmissions while accounting for both the PSD limit and the OCB requirement. Transmitting the PSFCH transmission based at least in part on the OCB requirement or the PSD limit may enable the UE to ensure that the PSFCH transmission complies with the OCB requirement or the PSD limit.

[0114] Several aspects for prioritizing the PSFCH transmission (s) are described herein. In a first aspect for prioritizing the PSFCH transmission (s) , a maximum number of simultaneous PSFCH transmissions may be supported in a PSFCH transmission occasion, and a number of scheduled PSFCH transmissions are to be transmitted in the PSFCH transmission occasion. In the first aspect, the UE 610 may select a number of one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions and, after the selection of the number of the one or more PSFCH transmissions, analyze the OCB requirement and the PSD limit. For example, if the UE 610 supports up to Nmax, PSFCH simultaneous PSFCH transmissions in a PSFCH transmit occasion and Nsch, Tx, PSFCH PSFCHs are scheduled to be transmitted in a given PSFCH transmit occasion, then the UE 610 may select NTx, PSFCH PSFCH transmissions for actual  transmission. For example, the UE 610 may first select the NTx, PSFCH PSFCH transmissions (e.g., based on a legacy rule) and subsequently consider both the PSD limit and the OCB requirement. Selecting the number of one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions and analyzing the OCB requirement and the PSD limit after the selection of the number of the one or more PSFCH transmissions may be implemented readily.

[0115] In a second aspect for prioritizing the PSFCH transmission (s) , a maximum number of simultaneous PSFCH transmissions may be supported in a PSFCH transmission occasion, and a number of scheduled PSFCH transmissions are to be transmitted in the PSFCH transmission occasion. In the second aspect, the UE 610 may analyze the OCB requirement and the PSD limit and, after the analysis of the OCB requirement and the PSD limit, select a number of one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions. For example, the UE 610 may first consider the OCB requirement and then the PSD limit, and subsequently select the NTx, PSFCH PSFCH transmissions (e.g., based on a legacy rule) . Analyzing the OCB requirement and the PSD limit and selecting a number of one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions after the analysis of the OCB requirement and the PSD limit may enable the UE 610 to fully utilize PCMAX and the associated UE capabilities.

[0116] Several examples are provided as follows for prioritizing the PSFCH transmission (s) . The examples may apply to the first aspect for prioritizing the PSFCH transmission (s) and / or the second aspect for prioritizing the PSFCH transmission (s) . In a first example, the UE 610 may transmit the PSFCH transmission on a PRB of the common interlace, the OCB requirement may prevent the UE from dropping the PSFCH transmission on the PRB of the common interlace, and the one or more dedicated PRBs and the PRB of the common interlace are located in a one MHz window (e.g., in the same one MHz window) . For example, the UE 610 may first check whether the PRB of the common interlace can be dropped based on the OCB requirement and then consider the PSD limit. The UE 610 may transmit PSFCH transmissions on a PRB of the common interlace that cannot be dropped due to the OCB requirement and a dedicated  PRB within one MHz of the common PRB. The UE 610 may drop one or more PSFCH transmissions that are scheduled for transmission on the one or more dedicated PRBs. For example, the UE 610 may drop the dedicated PRB transmission (s) and transmit on only the PRB of the common interlace.

[0117] In a second example, the OCB requirement prevents the UE from dropping the PSFCH transmission on a PRB of the common interlace, the one or more dedicated PRBs include a plurality of dedicated PRBs allocated for a plurality of first PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions, the UE 610 transmits a second PSFCH transmission of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions on the PRB of the common interlace, the PRB of the common interlace is allocated for the second PSFCH transmission, and the plurality of dedicated PRBs and the PRB of the common interlace are located in a one MHz window (e.g., in the same one MHz window) . The UE 610 may transmit a first PSFCH transmission, of the plurality of first PSFCH transmissions, associated with a highest priority among priorities associated with the plurality of first PSFCH transmissions. A maximum transmit power associated with the first PSFCH may be based at least in part on a transmit power associated with the PSD limit and a transmit power associated with the OCB requirement.

[0118] For example, the UE 610 may first check whether a PRB of the common interlace can be dropped based on the OCB requirement and then consider the PSD limit. The UE 610 may transmit PSFCH transmissions on a PRB of the common interlace that cannot be dropped due to the OCB requirement and a dedicated PRB within one MHz of the common PRB. If the UE 610 transmits multiple PSFCH transmissions simultaneously, and multiple dedicated PRBs allocated for multiple PSFCH transmissions and one PRB of the common interlace that cannot be dropped due to OCB requirement are within the same one MHz window, then the UE 610 may transmit only the PSFCH transmission with the highest priority among those PSFCH transmissions that are associated with dedicated PRBs located within the same one MHz window. The maximum transmit power may be PPSD-Pmin, conn.

[0119] In a further example, another first PSFCH transmission of the plurality of first PSFCH transmissions may be associated with the highest priority. In this case, the UE 610 may select the first PSFCH transmission based at least on part on the first PSFCH transmission being associated with a slot that is earlier than a slot associated with the other first PSFCH transmission. For example, the UE 610 may select a PSFCH  transmission associated with the earliest slot if there are multiple PSFCH transmissions located within the same one MHz window that have the same priority.

[0120] In a third example, the UE 610 may transmit the PSFCH transmission on a PRB of the common interlace, the OCB requirement may prevent the UE from dropping the PSFCH transmission on the PRB of the common interlace, and the one or more dedicated PRBs and the PRB of the common interlace are located in a one MHz window (e.g., in the same one MHz window) . For example, the UE 610 may first check whether the PRB of the common interlace can be dropped based on the OCB requirement and then consider the PSD limit. The UE 610 may transmit PSFCH transmissions on a PRB of the common interlace that cannot be dropped due to the OCB requirement and a dedicated PRB within one MHz of the PRB of the common interlace.

[0121] In the third example, the UE 610 may determine an upper bound for a number of one or more of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions in the one MHz window. For example, the UE 610 may introduce an upper bound for transmitted PSFCH transmissions within the same one MHz window. The UE 610 may autonomously determine the PSFCH transmissions first in an ascending order of priority field values, corresponding to the PSFCH transmissions, associated with HARQ-ACK information, if any, and then in ascending order of priority values over the PSFCH transmissions associated with conflict information, if any. In some examples,  within the same one MHz window, where PPSFCH, min, PRB is the minimum required transmit power per PRB for PSFCH transmission and Pmin, conn is the minimum power allocated per common PRB to meet the OCB requirement.

[0122] In a fourth example, the UE 610 may transmit the PSFCH transmission on a PRB of the common interlace, the OCB requirement may prevent the UE from dropping the PSFCH transmission on the PRB of the common interlace, and the one or more dedicated PRBs and the PRB of the common interlace are located in a one MHz window (e.g., in the same one MHz window) . For example, the UE 610 may first check whether the common PRB can be dropped based on the OCB requirement and then consider the PSD limit. The UE 610 may transmit PSFCH transmissions on a common PRB that cannot be dropped due to the OCB requirement and a dedicated PRB within one MHz of the common PRB.

[0123] In the fourth example, the UE 610 may compare a transmit power associated with one or more PSFCH transmissions of the plurality of PSFCH transmissions with the PSD limit. For example, the UE 610 may compare the actual PSFCH transmit power with the PSD limit. The actual transmitted power per one PRB per PSFCH transmission may be PPSFCH, k, PRB (i) =PPSFCH, k (i) -10 log10 (K3) , where PPSFCH, k (i) is the value determined by the following rule. The allowed number of transmitted PSFCHs within the same one MHz window is and the UE 610 autonomously determines the PSFCH transmissions first in an ascending order of priority field values, associated with HARQ-ACK information, corresponding to the PSFCH transmissions, if any, and then in ascending order of priority value, associated with conflict information, corresponding to the PSFCH transmissions, if any, such that NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz≤NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz, allow-1 within the same one MHz window.

[0124] As indicated above, Fig. 6 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with regard to Fig. 6.

[0125] Fig. 7 is a diagram illustrating examples 700 and 710 associated with mappings between a PRB for PSFCH transmission and a one MHz window, in accordance with the present disclosure.

[0126] As noted above in connection with Fig. 6, a UE (e.g., the UE 610) may, based at least in part on the power allocation, allocate transmit power uniformly to one MHz windows associated with the bandwidth. The mapping between the PRB for PSFCH transmission and a specified one MHz window may be predefined or configured.

[0127] In example 700, the UE may map a point of a first one MHz window associated with a lowest index of indexes associated with one MHz windows to a lowest frequency of one or more frequencies associated with one or more dedicated PRBs and a PRB of the common interlace. For example, the starting point of the one MHz window with the lowest index may align with the lowest frequency of the PRB used for PSFCH transmission by the UE.

[0128] In example 710, the UE may map a point of a first one MHz window associated with a lowest index of indexes associated with one MHz windows to a highest frequency of one or more frequencies associated with one or more dedicated PRBs and a PRB of the common interlace. For example, the starting point of a one  MHz window with the lowest index may align with the highest frequency of the PRB that is used for PSFCH transmission by the UE.

[0129] As indicated above, Fig. 7 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with regard to Fig. 7.

[0130] Fig. 8 is a diagram illustrating an example 800 associated with prioritizing simultaneous PSFCH transmissions, in accordance with the present disclosure.

[0131] As shown in Fig. 8, a UE may transmit multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions to respective UEs in a PSFCH symbol (e.g., the UE may transmit PSFCH transmission k in the PSFCH symbol to UE k) . The PSFCH symbol may be associated with PSSCH slots. In this example, the UE may have five PSFCH transmissions to be transmitted in the PSFCH symbol. The five PSFCHs may include PSFCH 4, PSFCH 5, PSFCH 3, PSFCH 1, and PSFCH 2. However, the UE may not transmit all five PSFCH transmissions. For example, when NTx, PSFCH= 4, the UE may transmit only four PSFCH transmissions out of the five PSFCH transmissions.

[0132] In the first aspect for prioritizing PSFCH transmission (s) , the UE may select the PSFCH transmissions first. For example, the UE may select the four PSFCHs based at least in part on a priority associated with each of the five PSFCHs. For example, PSFCH 4 may have a priority equal to PSFCH 2, PSFCH 4 and PSFCH 2 may have a higher priority than PSFCH 3, PSFCH 3 may have a higher priority than PSFCH 5, and PSFCH 5 may have a higher priority than PSFCH 1 (e.g., PSFCH4 = PSFCH2 >PSFCH3>PSFCH5 > PSFCH1) . In this case, the UE may drop PSFCH 1 (which has the lowest priority among the five PSFCH transmissions) , select the remaining PSFCH transmissions (e.g., PSFCH 4, PSFCH 5, PSFCH 3, and PSFCH 2) to transmit, and the UE may transmit the remaining PSFCH transmissions (e.g., PSFCH 4, PSFCH 5, PSFCH 3, and PSFCH 2) . The UE may subsequently consider the PSD limit and the OCB requirement.

[0133] In the first example of the first aspect, the UE may drop PSFCH 4 and PSFCH 5 because the dedicated PRBs used for PSFCH 4 and PSFCH 5 and the PRB of the common interlace, which cannot be dropped due to the OCB requirement, are located within the same one MHz window. Thus, the UE may transmit only PSFCH 2 and PSFCH 3.

[0134] In the second example of the first aspect, the UE may drop PSFCH 5 because the dedicated PRBs used for PSFCH 5 and PSFCH 4 and the PRB of the common interlace, which cannot be dropped due to the OCB requirement, are located within the  same one MHz window, and PSFCH 4 has a higher priority than PSFCH 5. Thus, the UE may transmit only PSFCH 4, PSFCH 2, and PSFCH 3.

[0135] In the third example of the first aspect (e.g., NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz. edge≤2) , the UE may transmit PSFCH 4, PSFCH 5, PSFCH 3, and PSFCH 2. Since the upper bound is two, and PSFCH 4 and PSFCH 5 are within the same one MHz and correspond to the upper bound of two, the UE may transmit PSFCH 4 and PSFCH 5, along with PSFCH 3 and PSFCH 2.

[0136] In the fourth example of the first aspect (e.g., NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz, allow= 2) , the UE may transmit PSFCH 4, PSFCH 5, PSFCH 3, and PSFCH 2. Since the upper bound is two, and PSFCH 4 and PSFCH 5 are within the same one MHz and correspond to the upper bound of two, the UE may transmit PSFCH 4 and PSFCH 5, along with PSFCH 3 and PSFCH 2.

[0137] As indicated above, Fig. 8 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with regard to Fig. 8.

[0138] Fig. 9 is a diagram illustrating an example 900 associated with prioritizing simultaneous PSFCH transmissions, in accordance with the present disclosure.

[0139] As shown in Fig. 9, a UE may transmit multiple simultaneous PSFCH transmissions to respective UEs in a PSFCH symbol (e.g., the UE may transmit PSFCH transmission k in the PSFCH symbol to UE k) . For example, when NTx, PSFCH= 3, the UE may transmit only three PSFCH transmissions out of the five PSFCH transmissions.

[0140] In the second aspect for prioritizing PSFCH transmission (s) , the UE may consider the OCB requirement first and then the PSD limit. The UE may subsequently select the PSFCH transmissions. For example, the UE may select the three PSFCHs based at least in part on a priority associated with each of the five PSFCHs.

[0141] In the first example of the second aspect, the UE may drop PSFCH 4, which is on a dedicated PRB within the same one MHz window as a common PRB. Thus, the UE may drop PSFCH 1 (which has the lowest priority of the remaining PSFCH transmissions) and transmit only PSFCH 5, PSFCH 3, and PSFCH 2.

[0142] In the second example of the second aspect, the UE may drop no PSFCH transmissions initially because multiple PSFCH transmissions are not within the same one MHz as a common PRB. The UE may subsequently drop PSFCH 5 and PSFCH 1 because PSFCH 5 and PSFCH 1 have the lowest priorities. Thus, the UE may transmit only PSFCH 4, PSFCH 2, and PSFCH 3.

[0143] In the third example of the second aspect (e.g., the upper bound for the number of PSFCH transmissions NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz. edge≤1) , the UE may drop no PSFCH transmission initially because none of the PSFCH transmissions exceed the upper bound. The UE may subsequently drop PSFCH 5 and PSFCH 1 because PSFCH 5 and PSFCH 1 have the lowest priorities. Thus, the UE may transmit only PSFCH 4, PSFCH 2, and PSFCH 3.

[0144] In the fourth example for prioritizing PSFCH transmission (s) (e.g., the actual allowed number of PSFCH transmissions NTx, PSFCH, 1MHz, allow= 2) , the UE may drop no PSFCH transmission initially because none of the PSFCH transmissions exceed the upper bound. The UE may subsequently drop PSFCH 5 and PSFCH 1 because PSFCH 5 and PSFCH 1 have the lowest priorities. Thus, the UE may transmit only PSFCH 4, PSFCH 2, and PSFCH 3.

[0145] As indicated above, Fig. 9 is provided as an example. Other examples may differ from what is described with regard to Fig. 9.
