AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Battery cells experience temperature fluctuations during charging and discharging, leading to resistance changes, performance loss, and mechanical stresses, which can reduce their longevity. Additionally, batteries require protection from chemical damage and often need efficient space management, especially in applications with limited space.

Method used

A battery tower comprising a stack of cell housings with integrated cooling ducts that are thermally coupled, allowing for effective cooling and temperature management. The cooling ducts are connected via a connector to fluidly couple adjacent cell housings, facilitating heat transfer and maintaining optimal cell performance.

Benefits of technology

The battery tower effectively manages cell temperatures, enhancing performance and longevity by preventing resistance changes and mechanical stresses. It also provides a space-efficient and protected environment for the battery cells, suitable for various applications.
