AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing sun protection systems face issues with tilting and loose fits due to manufacturing tolerances and dimensional deviations, leading to gaps and dirt accumulation, especially when using screws for single-point connections.

Method used

A fastening system with a sword having a recessed lower end and a planar upper contact point, combined with a seamless transition, ensures secure alignment and minimizes tilting by utilizing the center of gravity for precise positioning.

Benefits of technology

The system achieves minimal tilting and easy assembly by ensuring the sword rests at two offset contact points, reducing gaps and preventing jamming, even under varying conditions.

Abstract

A fastening system serves to fix brackets (14) of a sun protection system (10) in relation to a guide rail or other profile, wherein the bracket has a blade (16) which is inserted into a profile cross-section (18) of the side part or the guide rail or of a vertical profile or other profile connected thereto and the blade (16) has contact points (32, 40) on the inner surfaces of the profile cross-section (18) the positions of which are offset from each other in height in the profile cross-section (18).In order to optimize tolerances to reduce tilting positions while simultaneously enabling easy assembly, the sword (16) is provided to have a longitudinal profile with a first contact point (40) in the rear area and a second planar or linear contact point (32) in the front area, wherein an end (24) of the sword (16) inserted into the profile cross-section (18) has a recess below or above the first contact point (32), and a transition is provided between the lower end (24) of the sword (16) and the second contact point (32) to form the recess.
