Abstract

A styling member 200 for a haircare appliance 100 includes a heater 202 and a cover 204 disposed over the heater for transferring heat from the heater to an exterior surface of the styling member. The styling member also includes an actuation mechanism 212 which is operable to cause relative movement between the heater and the cover, for adjusting a proximity of the heater to the cover to control an amount of heat transferable from the heater to the cover. The relative movement may be radial or longitudinal. The styling member may allow air to flow out through the cover. It may also have an absorbent layer 210 over the heater, and heat from the heater may vaporise liquid in the absorbent layer. The styling member may be a barrel shape, and it may have a diameter that varies along its length. The styling member may be an attachment which is detachably connected to a body 102. [Fig 1A]
