AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing weeding machines face challenges in adjusting weeding strength efficiently, particularly for small, low-powered machines, and often require complex weight adjustments or staged changes. Additionally, these machines can interfere with low-clearance environments such as greenhouses.

Method used

A weeding section for a traveling vehicle equipped with a swing shaft and a swing frame that is freely swingable up and down, featuring a spring biasing mechanism with an arc-shaped spring guide that allows for downward biasing of the weeding tooth. This configuration enables adjustable weeding strength and reduced height, accommodating low-clearance spaces.

Benefits of technology

The solution allows for precise adjustment of weeding strength while maintaining a low profile, effectively addressing the limitations of existing machines in terms of adjustability and clearance. This configuration enhances the machine's ability to operate in various environments, including greenhouses, with improved efficiency and ease of use.

Abstract

To lower a height while securing an adjusting range of weeding strength.SOLUTION: A weeding unit 1 equipped to a travelling vehicle 2 includes: a swing shaft 13 that cannot rotate around a shaft of the travelling vehicle with respect to the travelling vehicle 2; a swing frame 14 vertically swingable through the swing shaft 13; a weeding tooth 15 provided on a tip side of the swing frame 14; and a spring energizing mechanism 16 for energizing the swing frame 14 downward. The spring energizing mechanism 16 includes a spring support frame 22 having an arc-shaped spring guide 21 that is nearly arc-shaped around the swing shaft 13, which is swingably supported through the swing shaft 13, relative support means 23 for relatively supporting the spring support frame 22 with respect to the swing shaft 13, spring means 24 externally inserted into the arc-shaped spring guide 21 for energizing the swing frame 14 downward, and engaging means 25 for engaging with the swing frame 14 so that the tip of the arc-shaped spring guide 21 is not separated to a spring support frame side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
