AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing display devices, such as head-up displays, face challenges in reducing manufacturing costs due to complex configurations and high component counts.
Method used
The display device incorporates a lighting device, a display panel with a liquid crystal layer, an optical sheet, a prism sheet, and an adhesive. The prism sheet is adhered to the optical sheet using an adhesive, which covers the entire surface of the prism sheet, reducing the number of parts and manufacturing costs.
Benefits of technology
This configuration reduces manufacturing costs by minimizing the number of components required to hold the prism sheet and display panel in place, while also suppressing deflection and reflection losses, thereby maintaining display quality.

Abstract
To provide a display apparatus capable of reducing manufacturing costs.SOLUTION: A display apparatus according to one embodiment includes: a lighting device; a display panel; an optical sheet; a prism sheet; and an adhesive. The display panel includes: a first substrate facing the lighting device; a second substrate facing the first substrate; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The optical sheet is adhered to the second substrate. The prism sheet includes: a first surface being a flat surface facing the top surface of the optical sheet; and a second surface having a plurality of prisms arranged in parallel and located opposite to the first surface. The adhesive bonds the top surface of the optical sheet to the first surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
