AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional sheet feeding devices face challenges in preventing sheet skewing during feeding while maintaining smooth sheet positioning operations.

Method used

The sheet feeding device incorporates a lift plate with movable cursors, a cursor interlocking mechanism using rack gears and a pinion gear, and a positional deviation prevention mechanism with a stopper and biasing member to restrict cursor movement and prevent skewing.

Benefits of technology

This configuration effectively prevents sheet skewing during feeding without hindering the sheet positioning operation, ensuring accurate and smooth feeding processes.

Abstract

To suppress a sheet becoming skew during feeding of the sheet, without inhibiting positioning work of the sheet.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device includes: a base; a lift plate; a pair of cursors; a feeding part coming into contact with a sheet by the lift plate lifting from an initial position; a cursor interlocking mechanism; and a positional deviation prevention mechanism. The cursor interlocking mechanism includes a pair of rack gears and a pinion gear. The positional deviation prevention mechanism includes a stopper and an energization member. In the state where the lift plate is held at the initial position, rotation restriction of the pinion gear by the stopper is not performed, and when the lift plate lifts from the initial position, by the stopper being positionally displaced by the energization force of the energization member, the stopper is engaged with the pinion gear or any one gear in the gear train including the pinion gear, and the rotation of the pinion gear is restricted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
