[0009] An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. An electronic keyboard instrument (electronic musical instrument) 1 shown in FIG. 1 includes a main body 10 and a leg 100. As shown in FIG. 1, the main body 10 includes a keyboard (operator) 20 having a plurality of keys 22 consisting of white keys 22W and black keys 22B with keying portions exposed, and a main body case (housing) 30 that surrounds and holds the keyboard 20. The leg 100 includes a pair of side panel members 110, a pedal frame 120, and a pedal device 130. In the following description, the arrangement direction of the plurality of keys 22 on the keyboard 20 is defined as the left-right direction (the left side of FIG. 1 is defined as the leftward direction), the extension direction of each key 22 is defined as the front-rear direction (the front side of FIG. 1 is defined as the frontward direction), and the up-down direction of the electronic keyboard instrument 1 is defined as the up-down direction (the upper side of FIG. 1 is defined as the upward direction).

[0019] In the electronic keyboard instrument 1, when the keyboard 20 is covered by the key cover 38, the gap between the console member 12 and the operation plate 18 is covered by the rear attachment member 15. Furthermore, when the power is turned on and the key cover 38 is stored in the space behind the first sheet metal member 13, a small gap is created between the lower panel 37 and the rear attachment member 15. Therefore, when the key cover 38 is stored, the interior of the main body case 30 is divided into a front space (first space) FS provided in front of the key cover 38 (on the keyboard 20 side) and a rear space (second space) BS provided behind the key cover 38 (on the side of each speaker 50R, 50L described below). [0020] As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 , a second sheet metal member 16 extending in the left-right direction is attached to the underside of the front top panel 36F (not shown in FIG. 3 ). In the cross-sectional view shown in FIG. 5 , the second sheet metal member 16 has a generally stepped shape extending from the lower front to the upper rear. An operation plate 18, which is a generally rectangular, thick plate elongated in the left-right direction, is provided at the front end of the lower portion of the second sheet metal member 16, with both plate surfaces facing the front-rear direction.
