Mounting device for composite wheels

Abstract

The present invention provides a device for mounting a composite wheel to a wheel mount. [Solution] The composite wheel includes a mounting opening into which an elongated fastening element is inserted, and the mounting device comprises (A) a fastening body having an engaging portion configured to fasten to an elongated fastening element, or to fasten to an elongated fastening element, and (B) a mounting insert, a bearing body including a base configured to face the surface of the composite wheel around the mounting opening, a fastening opening into which an elongated fastening element is inserted, an insert portion extending axially away from the base of the bearing body with respect to the fastening shaft around the fastening opening, and an engaging surface extending from the inner surface of the insert portion, wherein the engaging surface has a configuration substantially complementary to the engaging portion of the fastening body and is configured to operably engage with the engaging portion of the fastening body when the fastening body is fastened to the wheel mount via the elongated fastening element. The distal end of the insert portion does not directly engage with the wheel mount and / or element.
