Coke manufacturing method

Abstract

This invention provides a method for producing coke for blast furnaces using biomass. [Solution] A method for producing coke, characterized by: semi-carbonizing biomass at a semi-carbonization temperature of 220°C or higher and less than 370°C; heat-treating a mixture of the semi-carbonized biomass, alkali, and alcohol at a predetermined heat treatment temperature for 10 minutes or more; cooling the reaction product obtained by the heat treatment; separating the cooled reaction product into solid and liquid under acidic conditions; compressing and molding the separated solid to produce a molded product; and producing coke by carbonization of the molded product.
