Abstract
To provide a polarizing plate having moisture and heat resistant properties, with which the amount of warp in a laminate of the polarizing plate and a tabular optical element after being heated for a long time is reduced.SOLUTION: The polarizing plate includes a protective film (A) 110, a polarizer 120 and a protective film (B) 130 in the order stated. The protective film (A) includes a cyclic olefin polymer, satisfying a condition (a): 0≤Rab≤0.15% and 0≤Rtr≤0.15% and a condition (b): |Rtr-Rab|≤0.08%, where Rab represents a dimension change rate (%) in a direction parallel to the absorption axis of the polarizer when the protective film (A) is placed in a 85°C environment for 500 hours and Rtr represents a dimension change rate (%) of the protective film (A) in a direction perpendicular to the absorption axis of the polarizer. The moisture vapor permeability of the protective film (B) as measured under 25°C and 90%RH condition in accordance with JIS Z0208 is 20 g / m2-24hr or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
