AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing joiners, while effective in preventing moisture retention and siding deterioration, pose a risk in fire-resistant structures as flames can enter the inner space through water-passing holes, reducing the building's fire resistance.
Method used
A joiner design featuring a base made of non-combustible material with a shielding portion that protects the space between the internal space and the building structure, combined with holes that allow gas flow to enhance ventilation and drying of the siding.
Benefits of technology
The proposed joiner effectively suppresses siding deterioration while providing enhanced fire resistance by preventing direct contact of flames with the building structure, even when holes are present for ventilation.

Abstract
To provide a joiner which can suppress deterioration in a siding, and which can acquire favorable fire resistance of a building.SOLUTION: A joiner is arranged in a joint of sidings on an outer wall of a building on which the siding is mounted, and it includes: a base part fixed to a skeleton of the building; and a protrusion part formed so as to protrude from the base part, and arranged between end surfaces of adjacent sidings. The protrusion part includes: a pair of surfaces arranged by at least a part coming into contact with the end surface of the siding; and an outer surface formed being continuous to the pair of surfaces and arranged on the external side of the building. An internal space is formed by the pair of surfaces and the outer surface. At the pair of surfaces, a hole where air can circulate into the internal space is formed. The base part has a shielding part constituted by a non-combustible material and arranged so as to shield between the internal space and the skeleton.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
