To provide an image forming apparatus that can be reduced in size in a vertical direction.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises an apparatus body, an image reading device arranged above the apparatus body, and a sheet ejection device arranged above the apparatus body. The image reading device has an opening and closing member that is provided on an upper surface part of the image reading device, and that is movable to a closed position and an open position above the closed position. The sheet ejection device has an ejection tray on which an ejected sheet is loaded. The ejection tray is arranged above the opening and closing member, and is movable to a first position and a second position above the first position.
