AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing pouches used for microwave heating of retort foods suffer from appearance impairment due to heat-induced wrinkles and steam pressure issues that can cause the pouch to open.
Method used
A pouch design using specific layers of biaxially oriented plastic films and a sealant film with a vapor-venting mechanism, ensuring a Young's modulus of 3100 MPa and a sealing strength of 23.0 N or less, allowing reliable steam release.
Benefits of technology
The pouch maintains an attractive appearance and effectively vents steam during microwave heating, preventing pressure buildup and pouch opening.

Abstract
To provide a pouch that can enhance the appearance and can stably release steam when heated in a microwave oven.SOLUTION: A pouch 10 according to an aspect of the present invention includes a packaging material 30. The packaging material 30 comprises a first biaxially oriented plastic film 31, a second biaxially oriented plastic film 32, a third biaxially oriented plastic film 33, and a sealant film 34 in this order. The sealant film 34 contains polypropylene as the main component. There are only three biaxially oriented plastic films 31, 32, 33 in the packaging material 30. The packaging material 30 has a Young's modulus of 3,100 MPa or more in one direction when measured in an environment of 25°C. The seal strength of a seal portion 15 is 23.0 N or less when measured in an environment of 100°C after being held for 1 minute in the environment of 100°C.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
