Abstract

An image processing system is provided, the image processing system comprising processing circuitry configured to: receive image data captured by a medical image capture device, the medical image capture device for insertion into and / or for extraction from a patient; analyse the image data to identify a first time corresponding to a change of direction of travel of the medical image capture device within the patient; analyse the image data to identify a second time corresponding to extraction of the medical image capture device from the patient; and generate notification information when the first time and the second time satisfy a predetermined condition.
