Description

[0001] RIBBON FOR FIXING THE DENTAL PROSTHESIS

[0002] The invention relates to a ribbon dedicated to fix the dental prosthesis in the oral cavity, easy to use and having a better stability on the surface of the oral cavity.

[0003] In the field of dental prosthesis, it is known that no matter they are entire - for the hole teeth range or partial - for a certain number of teeth, they are fixed in the oral cavity through some special clamps, such as ’’COREGA”, which are laid on the intended surface inside the oral cavity, either on the palatine vault, or on the lower jaw (see Fig.l).

[0004] This fixing method has the following disadvantages:

[0005] It cannot insure the fixing of the dental prosthesis all day long, the prosthesis being necessary to be taken out of the mouth and fixed again with another layer of cream;

[0006] Because of the lack of the fixing cream’s efficiency in time, the owner of the prosthesis fills an unpleasant sensation that he is losing the prosthesis while speaking, which leads to a major discomfort and to the impossibility for the person to live a normal life, especially in the case of the persons that need to speak a lot or to sing, especially in public. More than this, the instability of the prosthesis generates the distortion of the sounds and to speaking defects;

[0007] Because of the fixing cream’s composition containing adhesives, there is a risk for some persons to develop secundary reactions and even alergies and this limitates the using period of the prothesis and causes its smaller efficiency for some persons;

[0008] - Because of the chemical composition of the fixing creams, the oral prothesis must be carefully washed when it is taken off the mouth and this operation requires time and attention.

[0009] The technical problem intended to be solved by the invention is to develop better stable in time fixing ribbon, safe to use and which insures a normal daily comfort to its possessor.

[0010] The ribbon for fixing the dental prothesis, according to the invention, solves the above mentioned problems by the fact that it is in the shape of a ribbon made of silicon or other acrilic material, by moulding, and this ribbon is inserted with suction caps that insure a very good fixing on the palatine vault and / or the gum of the lower jaw. The taking off of the dental prothesis is also easy, this being able to be gradually detached from the oral cavity and without pain. The fixing ribbon is attached to the prothesis during the moulding process of the prothesis and, there for, it is an integral part of the prothesis.

[0011] The ribbon for fixing the dental prosthesis, according to the invention, has the following advantages:

[0012] - It is easy to be made;

[0013] - It is very stable and easy to set and to dismantle;

[0014] - It does not generate any risk for secondary effects or allergies;

[0015] - It is easy to maintain.

[0016] It is presented, further on, a practical example of the ribbon for fixing dental prosthesis, according to the invention, related to figures 2, 3, 4 and 5, which represent: Fig.2a,b - fixing ribbon having the suction caps already inserted;

[0017] Fig.3 - suction cap;

[0018] Fig.4 - upper prosthesis A and lower prosthesis B;

[0019] Fig.5 - final prosthesis having the fixing ribbon mounted.

[0020] The ribbon for fixing the dental prothesis is in the shape of a ribbon 1 made by moulding from silicon or another acrilic material with the thickness of 0,05-1 mm having inserted, during the moulding, some suction caps 1 which insure the fixing of the ribbon on the palatine vault A ad / or the gum of the lower jaw B.

[0021] The ribbon 1 is applied on the entire surface of the prothesis that gets into contact with the gum, during the moulding process.

[0022] The suction caps 2 have the height of 0,05-1 nun, which is exactly the thickness of the ribbon 1 and must be at least equal with the height of the suction caps 2 and the diameter of 0,3-1 mm and they are placed one near another with a very small distance between them.

[0023] The ribbon for fixing the dental prosthesis is worked out as follows:

[0024] The suction caps 2 are placed at the bottom of the prosthesis mould

[0025] - The silicon or another acrylic material of the ribbon 1 is moulded over the suction caps 2

[0026] - The prosthesis itself is moulded over all the previous.
