Abstract

The present invention relates to an anode active material for lithium secondary batteries and a method for manufacturing same. The anode active material comprises: a silicon-carbon composite core part in which silicon nanoparticles and crystalline carbon particles are bound to each other in an amorphous carbon matrix; and an amorphous carbon coating layer positioned on the core part, wherein the average particle diameter of the crystalline carbon particles is 8-10 ㎛ and the bulk density of the crystalline carbon particles is 0.2 g / cc or less.
