Abstract

In a washing machine according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, when a voltage of a DC link capacitor is equal to or greater than a predetermined voltage, an energy storage device is charged with the voltage of the DC link capacitor by using a step-down power converter capable of stepping down a DC voltage, and when the voltage of the DC link capacitor drops, the DC link capacitor is charged by discharging the energy storage device. In addition, the washing machine can use regenerative braking energy by stepping down or stepping up the voltage from the energy storage device to a load by using a power conversion device.
