AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing technologies for autonomous mobile bodies do not effectively manage the operational control of multiple mobile bodies when users are assigned to lead each other, particularly in merging scenarios.
Method used
A mobile body control device and method that includes a recognition unit to analyze the surrounding situation and a controller to lead users to a predetermined point, while setting virtual obstacles in inappropriate areas and generating routes to confluence points for merging with other mobile bodies.
Benefits of technology
This solution enables more appropriate control of mobile body movement when leading users to join with another user, ensuring safe and efficient merging operations.

Abstract
A control device for a mobile body according to an embodiment comprises: a recognition unit that recognizes conditions surrounding the mobile body and a user on the basis of an image in which the conditions surrounding the mobile body are imaged; and a control unit that controls the mobile body so as to lead the user to a predetermined location on the basis of the surrounding conditions. When performing control for merging with another mobile body that leads another user, the control unit sets a virtual obstacle in a region where it is inappropriate for the mobile body to stay, and generates, on the basis of the set virtual obstacle and the surrounding conditions, a path to the merging location where the mobile body merges with the other mobile body.
