AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional rolling machines used for forging ring gears suffer from poor circularity of the final product shape due to unsupported inner and outer peripheries within the triangular blocking region, and there is a risk of interference between the outer peripheral surfaces of the rolls, limiting the shape of the final product that can be rolled forged.

Method used

The proposed rolling forging method and apparatus include two edge rolls that abut the inner diameter of the forged blank in an inclined state and two receiving rolls that oppose the outer peripheral side of the forged blank, ensuring proper support and preventing roll interference. This configuration enhances the circularity of the final product shape and allows for a wider range of product shapes to be forged.

Benefits of technology

The enhanced support mechanism increases the circularity of the final product shape and prevents interference between the outer peripheral surfaces of the rolls, thereby expanding the range of shapes that can be rolled forged.

Abstract

Provided are a method and device for rolling forging which make it possible to increase the roundness of the shape of a final product and in which there is no risk of interference between outer circumferential surfaces of rollers. A rolling forging device according to the present invention is characterized by comprising: two edge rollers 1, 2 that, in an inclined state, contact the inner diameter of an annular forging blank c4 from both sides in the axial direction of the forging blank c4 and apply pressing forces in the axial direction; and two receiving rollers 3A, 3B that are disposed oppositely on the outer circumferential side of the forging blank c4 with a plane including the axes of the two edge rollers 1, 2 serving as a boundary, and that apply pressing forces to the outer circumferential surface of the forging blank c4.
