AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing gas sensors face challenges in accurately detecting and identifying molecules due to changes in electrical characteristic values caused by factors other than molecule adsorption, such as temperature changes and long-term use, which complicate subsequent processing and reduce signal resolution.

Method used

A gas detection device incorporating a sensor unit with electrical characteristic values that change in response to molecule adsorption, an exposure control unit that manages sample gas exposure in a specific pattern, and a correlation double sampler that outputs a difference signal between signals obtained during exposure and non-exposure periods, thereby reducing the influence of factors other than molecule adsorption.

Benefits of technology

The solution enables the gas detection device to output signals with reduced interference from factors other than molecule adsorption, improving the accuracy of molecule detection and identification by narrowing the range of signal changes and enhancing processing efficiency.

Abstract

A gas sensing device (101) is provided with: a sensor unit (10) which comprises a sensing section having an electrical characteristic value that changes in response to adsorption of a molecule, and which outputs a signal on the basis of the electrical characteristic value; an exposure control unit (30) for controlling exposure of the sensing section to a sample gas containing a molecule to be sensed in an exposure pattern that includes a non-exposure period in which the sensing section is not exposed to the sample gas and an exposure period in which the sensing section is exposed to the sample gas; and a correlated double sampler (60) to which the signal outputted by the sensor unit (10) is inputted, and which, by operating at a timing corresponding to the exposure pattern, outputs a differential signal indicating the difference between a first signal outputted by the sensor unit (10) in the non-exposure period and a second signal outputted by the sensor unit (10) in the exposure period.
