Abstract
Description
[0001] A METHOD AND CABLE WINDING MACHINE THAT ENABLES THE PACKAGING OF CABLE ENDS WITHOUT LOOSENING
[0002] Technical Field
[0003] The invention relates to a method and a cable winding machine used in cable packaging lines, which ensures that the last end of cable, which is wound onto a reel when the winding process is completed, is held without loosening, brought to the stretch wrapping unit and packaged.
[0004] State of the Art
[0005] Nowadays, reels are widely used in many industries and everyday life. Its main function is to ensure that cables are stored and transported in an organized way. Furthermore, the reels allow easier pulling and rotation of the cables, thus simplifying work processes. The cables wound on the reel can often be electrical cables, ropes or strings. These cables are made of different materials depending on the use.
[0006] The reels also offer a great advantage in terms of portability. Many reels are designed to be lightweight and easy to carry. However, some reels are subjected to winding process in automatic winding mechanisms. This allows the cables to be wound quickly and regularly. Especially in sectors such as construction, telecommunications and maritime, it is of great importance that the cables are wound on a reel.
[0007] As mentioned in the known state of the art, there are machines that perform the winding process of cables on a reel. However, in these machines included in the present art, the stretch wrapping process is done after the winding process in the same place with the winding head. This situation leads to the cable winding head to be unable to feed new (empty) reels during the stretch wrapping process and leads to a decrease in production capacity due to time losses in the winders.
[0008] The aforementioned negativities necessitate the existence of a separate unit for the stretch wrapping process in the cable winding line and a structuring that will ensure that the cable end is transported to this unit without loosening of the cable that wound on the reel. As a result of the research on the subject matter, document CN217322808U was found. The relevant document relates to a winding machine used in the production of optical cable. In the present technique, it is mentioned that the cable is wound by a winding mechanism on a cable reel placed on a rotary base. However, there is no specific information with a cable end holder apparatus and a mechanism for stretch wrapping after cable winding.
[0009] As a result, a development in the relevant technical field has become necessary due to the above-mentioned drawbacks and the inadequacy of the existing solutions.
[0010] Purpose of the Invention
[0011] The invention purposes to solve the above-mentioned problems, inspired by existing situations.
[0012] The main purpose of the invention is to provide a method and a cable winding machine that enables the reel on which the cable is wound to be taken to a separate unit for the stretch wrapping process and to be held and fixed and securely stored with a cable end holding apparatus without loosening of the cable on it while being transported to this unit.
[0013] Another purpose of the invention is to ensure that after the completion of the winding, the winding head is emptied as soon as possible for the new winding without waiting for the stretch wrapping process, that the completed reel is transferred to the stretch wrapping unit without stretching but in a safe way that prevents the cable from distributing and thus a new (empty) reel is taken into the winding head. In this way, the winding process of the next reel is switched quickly without interruption and production capacity is increased.
[0014] In order to fulfil the above-described objects, the invention relates to a cable winding machine that used the cable packaging lines, enables to winding a cable on an empty reel, and have a cable winding unit comprising the following
[0015] • A reel feeding conveyor that moves the empty reel along the line to be wound with cable,
[0016] A cable feeding mechanism that feeds cable for winding on the empty reel; and A rotation mechanism that grips the empty reel from the top to rotate it, ensuring the empty reel is wound with cable and a cable-wound reel is obtained characterized by comprises;
[0017] • A cable end holding apparatus that ensures the last section of the cable wound on the reel is held, preventing the cable from loosening before the stretch wrapping process, and securing the completed winding on the cable-wound reel.
[0018] The structural and characteristic features and all advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood by means of the figures given below and the detailed description written with references to these figures, and therefore, the evaluation should be made by considering these figures and detailed description.

[0042] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0043] In this detailed description, preferred embodiments of the inventive cable winding machine (1) are described only for a better understanding of the subject matter.
[0044] The inventive cable winding machine (1) comprises a cable winding unit (10) in which the winding process of a cable on an empty reel is performed and a stretch wrapping unit (20) which enables the cable-wound reel (4) to be stretched and packaged. The cable winding unit (10), as shown in Figures 1 and 2 within the cable winding machine (1), which enables the cable (3) used in cable packaging lines to be wound and packaged on an empty reel (2), comprises a cable feeding mechanism (12) that feeds the cable to the empty reel. It further comprises a reel feeding conveyor (11), which is a belt to enable the cable reels (4) and / or empty reels (2) to move on the line of said cable winding machine (1). It further comprises a rotation mechanism (13) that grips the empty reel from the top to rotate it, ensuring the cable is wound onto the empty reel, resulting in a cable-wound reel (4).
[0045] In order to eliminate the problem, which is not included in the present techniques, of the cable end (3.1) being cut off after the winding of the cable (3) has been completed and the cable (3) being dispersed by the release of the cable end (3.1) wound on the reel, the inventive cable winding unit (10) comprises a cable tail end holding apparatus (14). The cable tail end holding apparatus (14), the appearance of which is given in Figures 3, 4 and 5 and developed for the solution of the aforementioned problem, ensures that the cable end (3.1), which is the last section of the cable (3) wound on the cable reel (4), is held and prevents the cable (3), whose winding is completed from the cable reel (4) before stretch wrapping, from falling apart.
[0046] Another problem in the present technique is that the cable winding unit (10) and the stretch wrapping unit (20) are located in the same block. In this case, firstly the cable winding process and then the stretching process take place at the same point. Thus, the next empty reel (2) to be wound is waiting for the cable-wound reel (4) which has completed the winding process to be stretched and packed. In order to overcome the aforementioned negativity, the inventive cable winding machine (1) comprises after the winding unit, also a stretch unit (20) after the winding unit. The aforementioned stretch unit is integrated right next to the cable winding unit (10) on the same line. The cablewound reels (4) are transferred to the stretch wrapping unit (20) for packaging by the reel feeding conveyor (11 ). The cable end (3.1) of the cable-wound reel (4) is held by the cable end holding apparatus (14), and the cable-wound reel is wrapped with stretch film (21) completing the packaging of the cable-wound reel (4). Therefore, while an empty reel (2) is being wound with cable in the winding unit, the previous reel with completed winding is stretched at the same time, increasing production capacity.
[0047] Cable end holding apparatus (14) which is the one of the most important features of the inventive machine performs its function by moving between the cable winding unit (10) and the stretch wrapping unit (20). The cable end holding apparatus (14) securely grips the cable end (3.1) when the cable feeding mechanism (12) stops feeding the cable after the winding process is completed. Then, it moves together with the cable-wound reel (4) to the stretch wrapping unit (20). The cable end holding apparatus (14) includes at least one fixed jaw (14.1 ) and at least one movable jaw (14.2) that moves to the fixed jaw (14.1) to clamp the cable end (3.1) when the cable feeding mechanism (12) stops feeding the cable. The movable jaw (14.2) remains in a position parallel to the ground during the cable winding to the reel. When the cable winding is complete, it moves to the fixed jaw (14.1 ) to clamp the cable end (3.1) and stays at a vertical position pointing to the ground.
[0048] In one embodiment of the invention, the cable winding machine (1 ) comprises an exit conveyor (22) for the cable-wound reel (4), which is stretched into a package, to exit the cable winding machine (1 ). The aforementioned exit-conveyor (22) is integrated into this unit at the end of the stretch wrapping unit (20).
[0049] "The operating principle of the inventive cable winding machine (1) is as follows:
[0050] An empty reel (2) is taken to the cable winding unit (10) by the reel feeding conveyor (11 ) as shown in figure 4. In the cable winding unit (10), the rotation mechanism (13) grips the empty reel from the top part and starts to rotate when the cable feeding mechanism (12) fixes the cable (3) to the empty reel (2). In this way, the cable (3) is quickly wound onto the empty reel (2). The cable end (3.1) of the cable-wound reel (4), which has completed the winding process, is held by the cable end holding apparatus (14) to prevent the wound cable from loosening. The cable (3) fed to the reel, after the winding process is completed, is cut in the cable feeding mechanism (12). The cablewound reel (4) moves on the reel feeding conveyor (11 ) together with the cable end holding apparatus (14) and comes to the stretch wrapping unit (20). The cable end holding apparatus (14) continues to hold the cable end (3.1) until it comes from the cable winding unit (10) to the stretch wrapping unit (20). Meanwhile, a new empty reel (2) is guided into the cable winding unit (10). The cable end (3.1) of the cable-wound reel (4) is fixed at the stretch wrapping unit (20) by rotating the stretch film (21 ) around the completed cable-wound reel (4). When the cable end (3.1) is fixed, the movable jaw (14.2) of the cable end holding apparatus (14) opens to release the cable end (3.1). Finally, the completed and cable end (3.1 ) fixed reel , rotates around its axis and the packaging process is completed. The cable-wound reel (4), after the packaging process is completed, is removed from the cable winding machine (1) via the exit conveyor (22) and becomes ready for the user. These processes are repeated for the other empty reels (2). In the inventive cable winding machine (1 ) the method which enables the cable end to be packaged without loosening comprises the following process steps,
[0051] • Movement of the empty reel (2) on the line via the reel feeding conveyor to be wound with cable (3),
[0052] • Feeding the cable (3) to be wound on the empty reel (2) via the cable feeding mechanism (12) and
[0053] • Rotating the empty reel by grasping the top of it via the rotating mechanism (13), thereby winding the empty reel (2) with the cable (3) and obtaining a cable-wound reel (4) characterized by comprising; the following process steps;
[0054] • Holding the cable end (3.1) via cable end holding apparatus (14) to prevent the wound cable from loosening.
[0055] • Cutting the cable (3) fed to the reel at the cable feed mechanism (12),
[0056] • Advancing of the cable-wound reel (4) and cable end holding apparatus (14) with the reel feeding conveyor (11) to the stretch unit (20),
[0057] • Holding of the cable end (3.1) by the cable end holding apparatus (14) until the cable-wound reel reaches the stretch wrapping unit (20)
[0058] • Fixing of the cable tail end (3.1 ) by rotating around the cable reel (4) with the completed winding of the stretch at the stretch wrapping unit (20)
[0059] • Separation of the movable jaw (14.2) from the fixed (14.1) of the cable end holding apparatus (14) when the cable end (3.1) is fixed
[0060] • Completion of the packaging process by fully stretching the reel on which the free and fixed cable tail end (3.1) is wound.
