Protein for regulating plant disease resistance and nitrogen use efficiency, encoding gene thereof, and use thereof

By regulating the expression or activity of the OsVIRK1 protein in rice, the problems of low nitrogen use efficiency and susceptibility to viral infection in rice have been solved, thereby improving the disease resistance and nitrogen use efficiency of rice, optimizing the number of branches and plant height, reducing production costs, and increasing yield and quality.

Abstract

A protein for regulating plant disease resistance and nitrogen use efficiency, an encoding gene thereof, and use thereof. The protein is named OsVIRK1, and its amino acid sequence is SEQ ID No. 1. Experiments have demonstrated that increasing the content of the OsVIRK1 protein can enhance plant disease resistance, while reducing the content of the OsVIRK1 protein can decrease plant disease resistance; altering the content of the OsVIRK1 protein can regulate plant nitrogen use ability; and reducing the content of the OsVIRK1 protein can increase the number of plant branches and decrease plant height.
