Abstract

A phased array antenna assembly comprises a plurality of stacked phased array antenna layers. Each layer includes a first antenna layer mounted on a second antenna layer, with an integrated circuit having at least one channel mounted between them. The assembly also includes at least one hollow radiating element formed in the phased array antenna layer when the first antenna layer is stacked on the second antenna layer. Each respective channel of the integrated circuit is connected to a respective hollow radiating element.
