Abstract

In this balloon catheter, a distal-side tapered section 13d of a balloon 13 is provided with an outside protruding section 33 that protrudes toward an outer peripheral side of the distal-side tapered section 13d and extends along the inclination of the distal-side tapered section 13d. The outside protruding section 33 is formed in an integrated manner with the distal-side tapered section 13d. A gap 41 that divides the outside protruding section 33 in a length direction is formed in a middle section of the outside protruding section 33 in the length direction. A recessed section 51 that is recessed to an inner peripheral side of the distal-side tapered section 13d is formed in the distal-side tapered section 13d in a location corresponding to the gap 41.
