Abstract

System applied to a torque wrench for dental implants or zygomatic implants, the torque wrench (1) being configured as a device having an internal cavity with an opening at its lower portion for manual engagement, the cavity to receive the upper end of a zygomatic implant with a straight platform (2A) or the upper end of a zygomatic implant with an angled platform (2B); After engagement, the assembly is introduced into the oral cavity toward the previously exposed bone where the implant is fixed by manually rotating the upper portion of the torque wrench (1); Torque transmission occurs through the internal lateral faces (3, 4, 5) which engage the external lateral surfaces of the upper end of the zygomatic implant with a straight platform (2A) or the zygomatic implant with an angled platform (2B), thereby enabling controlled torque application according to the force, expressed in kgf, applied to the upper end of the torque wrench (1). This results in fixation of the zygomatic implant with a straight platform (2A) by its lower end, or the zygomatic implant with an angled platform (2B) by its threaded lower end, in the corresponding bone that will support the artificial tooth in the oral cavity; Thereafter, the torque wrench (1) is disengaged, removed, and stored for the subsequent implantation procedure.

[0001] "SYSTEM APPLIED TO A TORQUE WRENCH FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS OR ZYGOMATIC IMPLANTS"

[0002] (001) This patent application relates to a constructive arrangement combined with a process for introducing, controlling torque and fixing dental implants or zygomatic implants belonging to the field of the dental products industry and its accessories for dental implants or zygomatic implants.

[0003] (002) As is known from the state of the art of the dental products and accessories industry, there are several solutions in the form of keys that use the internal or external part on the platform or key-shaped connections that use the geometric shapes on the platform; and they bring with them difficulties in torque limitations, a laborious system for releasing the mount onto the implant, and the danger of components falling into the patient's mouth, which could be swallowed and lodged in the lungs. The models on the market called manual implant insertion keys for mount connection or keys for internal connection depend on several other components and connections: manual implant insertion keys for mount connection or keys for internal connection; connections outside the platform and inside the platform; difference between straight and inclined platforms; implant with internal key insertion;Implant with screw-mounted mounting connection; currently zygomatic implants and dental implants are inserted with keys using an internal connection(1) or on the implant platform(2) and never on the external body; sometimes screw keys are fitted to the platform commonly known as mounts; the implant has a geometric shape that can be variable internally to the implant and is located in the platform region; the manual key has the same shape and fits internally into the implant; after inserting the key, insert the implant into the desired position and remove the key again;When using implant mounts, it is common practice to use an instrument that connects to the geometric shape on the platform. The internal thread is supported by a screw, then the implant is fitted into the geometric shape on the platform, and the screw is tightened to hold it in position. After tightening the mount screw, a manual wrench is used to insert the zygomatic implant into the zygomatic bone. Once the desired position is reached, the wrench is removed from the mount, the screw is unscrewed, and finally, the mount is removed, leaving the implant in the desired position.

[0005] (005) The present constructive arrangement for use in the field of dental products industry and its accessories for dental implants or zygomatic implants is intended to insert the implants from the outside of the implant, without using an internal or external connection on the platform or a screw mount on the connection above the platform to insert the implant.

[0006] (006) The new constructive arrangement makes it possible for this function to be performed by the components, so that a dental or zygomatic implant will be developed with a geometric shape on the outside of the implant body that allows its insertion. Along with this, a key with the same geometric shape was developed, with the implant being the male and the key the female. (007) Another important factor is an indication of where the lowest side of the platform is located, which is an important tool for understanding the positioning of the platform in the location of the patient's geometric arch.
