Description

[0001] Nowadays, it happens again and again on motorways and other types of roads that emergency services arrive at the scene of an accident with considerable delay due to a lack of emergency lanes. In the worst case, this can lead to life-saving measures being unable to be carried out on the accident victim in time. While en route to the accident, emergency services have only limited time to prepare for the accident. The only information they usually have is incomplete information from the shocked accident reporters. They are missing important and helpful information that would enable them to plan in advance how best and fastest to react after arriving at the scene of the accident. Another problem is routine tasks at the accident scene that have to be handled while police officers are present. By eliminating many routine tasks, officers could devote more time to interviewing witnesses on site.Furthermore, given the shortage of skilled police officers, personnel could be deployed more efficiently.

[0002] Due to these problems, an accident drone was developed as a solution that is capable of making the aforementioned optimizable deficiencies a thing of the past!

[0003] The starting point is a drone that is equipped with several functions to support rescue workers and officials in the event of an accident. The advantage of the drone's speed is utilized. The drone can fly autonomously to the scene of the accident at maximum speed without being hindered. The drone receives the GPS data of the accident scene from the automatic emergency call from newer vehicles upon accident detection or from coordinate transmission from the emergency control center. Using an attached camera unit, which works in conjunction with a LiDAR scanner and a thermal imaging camera as well as other sensors (6), the entire accident area and adjacent areas are measured and visualized. The accident drone is able to use thermography to verify the number of occupants in a car and to determine whether there is water on the road. In addition, a fire development (especiallyin the case of electric cars). In addition, the drone is capable of measuring the distance between two crashed cars. This collected data is transmitted to emergency services and rescue teams in real time. On the one hand, emergency services can use the collected data (computer (5)) to determine how to act at the scene of the accident. They can thus actively prepare for the accident and, if necessary, request additional forces. On the other hand, the data represents an important tool for accident reconstruction, as the accident situation is recorded and analyzed unchanged at the earliest possible time (computer (5)).

[0004] Another function of the drone is to drop off a transport box (2) upon arrival at the scene of the accident. This transport box contains important medical supplies, including a defibrillator. This allows lay rescuers to initiate life-sustaining measures before emergency personnel arrive.

[0005] If emergency services request a helicopter, this is automatically transmitted to the drone. The drone uses the data already collected from the LiDAR measurement (6) and, if necessary, performs additional measurements to identify the most suitable helipad. The drone then marks this helipad using spray paint (1).

[0006] The power supply of the accident drone is ensured by a battery and solar power. List of reference symbols 1 spray device 2 transport boxes 3 removable nit lights 4 removable hammer device 5 computers (hardware) 6 Sensor technology

Claims

[1] Enabling communication with people at the scene of the accident and the rescue services via a hands-free system integrated into the drone (6), [2] A transport box (2) that allows medical products, such as a defibrillator, to be placed at the scene of the accident, [3] The automatic installation of a nit lamp (3) and warning triangle in the transport box (2) to secure the accident site, [4] The collection and analysis of traffic data, specifically a. integrated license plate recognition of cars blocking the emergency lane, b. measuring the traffic flow and recording the length of the traffic jam using sensors (6), [5] An AI-based analysis software, integrated into a computer (5), which a. can identify possibly hidden occupants and those involved in the accident using thermography, b. can make initial interpretations of the accident sequence using underlying data, such as road surface conditions (roughness, moisture) or skid mark patterns, c. and this data plus additional sensor data (e.g. from LiDAR measurements) can compile an accident report for the rescue services. [6] The function of determining a suitable helipad, which is determined by sensors (including LiDAR measurements), and marking it with spray paints using the spray device (1). [7] The function of detecting fire sources using sensor technology (6), such as thermography, and fighting them directly with a foam extinguisher attached to the drone. [8] An emergency hammer (4), which can be attached to the existing robot arm, for example, and makes it possible to break vehicle windows in order to free trapped occupants.
