A joint assembly for connecting split pipes

Abstract

The invention discloses a joint assembly for connecting split pipes comprising a pair of inner clamp members each having a first portion securable to opposing ends of a split pipe, a second portion extending substantially perpendicularly from the first portion and terminating in a third portion flanged outwardly from the second portion; and an outer clamp member securable over the third portions of the inner members to operatively secure the pair of inner clamp members and split pipe to form a closed pipe. The invention further extends to a pipe and joint assembly comprising a split pipe and the joint assembly for connecting split pipes as defined above.
