Abstract

Title: ASSEMBLY SYSTEM AND METHOD Disclosed herein is an assembly system and method, comprising a component to be assembled to a base by a given number of first bolts and a given number of second bolts With different bolt head geometries. As an assembly tool is consecutively engaged With the first and second bolts, a controller of the tool identifies a geometry of an engaged bolt head and detects a torque applied on the engaged bolt head. Upon determining that the identified geometry corresponds With a stored geometry of the first bolt head, and that the applied torque exceeds a threshold torque, the controller increases an engaged number of first bolts by an increment, compares the engaged number of first bolts to the given number of first bolts, and generates an alert signal when determining that the engaged number deviates from the given number of first bolts.
