A pest control device and a method for using the pest control device

Abstract

A pest control device and method for using the same are described. The device comprises: a housing having an entrance for a pest; an inner compartment comprising a side wall extending between a first end and a second end, and a passage for connecting the entrance to the first end of the inner compartment, a motion sensor to sense a motion of the pest within the passage; a presence sensor a to detect presence of the pest within the inner compartment; a killing mechanism; a control circuitry operably connected to the motion sensor, the presence sensor, and the killing mechanism; and configured determine a movement of the pest at a movement time point; determine a presence of the pest within the inner compartment at a presence time point; and actuate the killing mechanism upon the presence time point being within a trigger time range after the movement time point.
