Method for implementing high dynamic imaging and device therefor, image processing system

Abstract

This invention provides a method and apparatus for implementing high dynamic range imaging (HDR), as well as an image processing system. The HDR imaging apparatus includes an image sensor, a pixel array within the image sensor comprising multiple pixel units, and a column processing unit including a gain control unit and an analog-to-digital converter. Each pixel unit includes two photoelectric conversion units with different photosensitivity. The gain control unit is used to determine the brightness range of the image based on the signal voltage output by the pixel units, and to select the photoelectric conversion unit for signal conversion within the pixel units, the charge-to-voltage conversion gain of the pixel units, and the voltage gain of the column processing units based on the brightness range. The HDR imaging method and apparatus provided by this invention can read the signal voltage only once, shortening the row readout time and thus increasing the frame rate.
