[0059] As mentioned above, eyelash extensions have been used to enhance the length, thickness, and fullness of natural eyelashes. The eyelash strips applied to the user's eyelids are easily distinguishable from the user's natural eyelashes and may be unsuitable if worn for extended periods. Some eyelash extensions are applied to an individual's natural eyelashes hair by hair, or in some cases, cluster by cluster. Due to the precise nature of applying a single hair or cluster, experienced technicians can perform the application. Such services can cost hundreds of dollars and take up to several hours to complete.

[0060] In some cases, an individual may wish to curl their natural eyelashes and / or eyelash extensions that have been applied to the individual's natural eyelashes. Due to the unique geometry and sensitivity of the eye area, existing tools may not use heat to curl natural eyelashes and / or artificial eyelash extensions, or may have shapes or other features that are not suitable for curling natural eyelashes and / or eyelash extensions.

[0061] In other cases, eyelash extensions worn by an individual may fall off or otherwise reduce the bond with the individual's natural eyelashes. An individual may wish to improve the quality of the bond and increase the amount of time the individual can wear eyelash extensions.

[0062] To address the above and other challenges, an electric applicator is disclosed herein that is designed to curl one or more natural eyelashes or artificial eyelash extensions attached to natural eyelashes. The electric applicator provides a new and improved way to curl eyelashes, artificial eyelash extensions, or both with much more control than conventional solutions. The electric applicator can also be used to reattach artificial eyelash extensions that were previously attached to natural eyelashes (e.g., a few days ago), thereby improving the bond between the natural eyelashes and the artificial eyelash extensions and extending the bond between the natural eyelashes and the artificial eyelash extensions over time.

[0063] In some embodiments, the electrical applicator includes a handle and a pair of opposing arms coupled to the handle. Each arm includes a portion having a first bend between a first end and a second end of the portion. The first bend is shaped to align near the eyelash line of the eye area. The electrical applicator includes a heating unit configured to heat the portion of each arm (e.g., both the inner and outer surfaces of the portion).

[0064] In some embodiments, the electrical applicator comprises a cooling unit to cool the portion of each arm.

[0065] In some embodiments, at least a portion of the inner surface of the first portion corresponding to each arm comprises a generally flat surface designed to apply pressure to natural eyelashes and one or more artificial eyelash extensions attached to the natural eyelashes (e.g., the underside thereof). In some embodiments, at least a portion of the outer surface corresponding to the first portion comprises a curved portion having a surface with a curvature positioned between the first side and the second side of each arm. The curvature of the curved portion of the first portion (in conjunction with heat) is designed to curl one or more natural eyelashes or one or more artificial eyelash extensions attached to the natural eyelashes.

[0066] In an illustrative embodiment for curling natural eyelashes and artificial eyelash extensions, an electric applicator can be heated to a desired temperature. The heated electric applicator can be closed over the natural eyelashes and the artificial eyelash extensions attached thereto, so that the heated inner surfaces of the heated electric applicator's arms contact and apply pressure to the natural eyelashes and the artificial eyelash extension therebetween. The heated electric applicator can rotate about an axis of rotation, and the natural eyelashes and / or artificial eyelash extensions can contact the heated outer surface (which can also be curved) of at least one arm portion. Contact between the natural eyelashes and / or artificial eyelash extensions and the inner and outer surfaces of the heated electric applicator's arms can be maintained for a period of time to secure the curl of the natural eyelashes and / or artificial eyelash extensions.

[0067] In another exemplary embodiment, to reattach an artificial eyelash extension attached to a natural eyelash using adhesive, an electric applicator can be heated to a desired temperature. The original attachment of the artificial eyelash extension may have occurred some time previously, such as several days prior to reattachment. The heated electric applicator can be closed over the natural eyelash and the artificial eyelash extension attached thereto, so that the heated inner surfaces of the heated electric applicator's arms contact and apply pressure to the natural eyelash and the artificial eyelash extension therebetween. The originally applied adhesive can begin to soften and redistribute between the natural eyelash and the adjacent artificial eyelash extension. After a period of time, the heated electric applicator can be removed and its cooling unit activated. The pair of opposing arms can be cooled to the desired temperature and closed over the natural eyelash, artificial eyelash extension, and redistributed adhesive. The redistributed adhesive can harden and reform and improve the bond between the natural eyelash and the artificial eyelash extension, extending the period of time the artificial eyelash extension can be worn.

[0068] Figure 1 is an illustration of the eye region according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 1 As shown, an eye region 100 (such as a human eye region) can include upper natural eyelashes 102A (also referred to herein as "natural eyelashes 102A," "natural eyelashes 102A," or "natural eyelashes 102A") and lower natural eyelashes 102B (also referred to herein as "natural eyelashes 102B," "natural eyelashes 102B," or "natural eyelashes 102B"). Natural eyelashes 102A and 102B can have an underside and a top side opposite the underside. For example, natural eyelashes 102A illustrate underside 108. Natural eyelashes 102B illustrate top side 110. Natural eyelashes 102A and 102B are collectively referred to herein as natural eyelashes 102.

[0069] The eye region 100 includes an upper lash line 104 (also referred to herein as "lash line 104") and an upper waterline 106 (also referred to herein as "waterline 106"). In some embodiments, a lash line (such as the upper lash line 104 or lower lash line of natural eyelashes 102B) may include areas between natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the lash line may be curved and follow the arrangement of natural eyelashes 102. In some embodiments, the upper lash line 104 may include some skin areas above (e.g., directly above) and / or below (e.g., directly below) natural eyelashes 102A. Similarly, the lower lash line may include some skin areas below (e.g., directly below) and / or above (e.g., directly above) natural eyelashes 102B.

[0070] In some embodiments, the waterline (also referred to herein as the "wet line"), such as the upper waterline 106 corresponding to the natural eyelashes 102A and the lower waterline corresponding to the natural eyelashes 102B, can include the area (or line) of skin exposed between the natural eyelashes 102 and the eye.

[0071] As used herein, spatially relative terms such as "below," "upper," "lower," "top," "bottom," and the like refer to the relative position of one element with respect to another element. Unless otherwise specified, spatially relative terms are not intended to be limited to absolute orientations and are intended to encompass different orientations of elements other than the orientation depicted in the drawings (e.g., rotated 90 degrees, flipped, etc.). For example, an element described as an "upper" element in a figure could be considered to be oriented as a "lower" element if the element in the figures were rotated 180 degrees without departing from aspects of the present disclosure.

[0072] Figure 2 is an illustration of exemplary artificial eyelash extensions according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 3 is an illustration of another exemplary artificial eyelash extension according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0073] In some embodiments, one or more of the artificial eyelash extensions 200 or 300 (also referred to herein as "eyelash extensions" or "artificial eyelash extensions") are designed or constructed for application to natural eyelashes, such as on the underside of a user's natural eyelashes or even on the top side of a user's natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, one or more of the artificial eyelash extensions 200 or 300 may be part of a set of multiple artificial eyelash extensions. In some embodiments, one or more of the artificial eyelash extensions 200 or 300 may be a segment of a "full" artificial eyelash extension, such that, for example, when multiple artificial eyelash extensions are arranged adjacent to each other on the underside of a natural eyelash (e.g., natural eyelash 102A), the arranged artificial eyelash extensions span the length of the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension (e.g., a segment) may be shorter than the horizontal length of the natural eyelashes (e.g., the length of the lash line). In other embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension may be longer, such that the artificial eyelash extension is a "full" artificial eyelash extension that roughly spans the horizontal length of the natural eyelashes. The artificial eyelash extension may be arranged to roughly align with the user's lash line. In some embodiments, using artificial eyelash extensions as separate segments can allow the individual artificial eyelash extensions to move independently when bonded to the underside of natural eyelashes, which simulates the movement of natural eyelashes and can improve the feel, comfort, and longevity of the artificial eyelash extensions.

[0074] Artificial eyelash extension 200 and artificial eyelash extension 300 depict artificial hair 202A-202N (collectively referred to herein as "artificial hair 202") and artificial hair 302A-302N (collectively referred to herein as "artificial hair 302"), respectively. In some embodiments, the artificial hair of an artificial eyelash extension (such as artificial eyelash extension 200 or artificial eyelash extension 300) can be formed from one or more synthetic materials, including but not limited to polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), acrylic resin, polyester (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate (PET)), other polymers, other synthetic materials, or combinations thereof. In alternative embodiments, natural materials, such as natural hair (e.g., human hair or mink hair), can be used. In some embodiments, the artificial hair of a particular artificial eyelash extension can have one or more lengths and / or one or more diameters. In certain embodiments, the diameter of the artificial hair can be between about 0.0075 millimeter (mm) (for example, 0.0075mm+ / -0.0025mm) to 0.3mm (for example, 0.3mm+ / -0.05mm).In certain embodiments, the end of one or more artificial hairs can be tapered. In certain embodiments, one or more artificial hairs can be curled or shaped in a particular direction. For example, the end 208 of artificial hair 202 or the end 308 of artificial hair 302 can be tapered or curled or both.In certain embodiments, the length of the artificial hair can be in the scope of 3mm to 30mm, or even longer in some cases.

[0075] In some embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension may include a base. For example, artificial eyelash extension 200 includes base 206. In some embodiments, artificial eyelash extension 300 may or may not include (as shown) a base similar to base 206 of artificial eyelash extension 200. The base may include a top side (e.g., facing away from the page and toward the reader), a bottom side, a back side, a front side, and two lateral sides. In some embodiments, one or more of the plurality of artificial hairs of the artificial eyelash extension protrude from the front side of the base. When arranged under the natural eyelashes, the back side of the artificial eyelash extension may point toward the user's eyes. The thickness (e.g., between the top and bottom sides of the base) may be between approximately 0.05 millimeters (mm) and approximately 0.15 mm (e.g., 0.05 mm + / - 0.01 mm). In some embodiments, the thickness of the base may be less than 0.05 mm. In some embodiments, the low profile of the base is designed to allow the artificial eyelash extension to be lightweight, allowing for better attachment to the underside of the natural eyelashes and, in some cases, preventing obstruction of the user's field of vision. The low profile of the base may be attributable, at least in part, to the application of heat in forming the base.

[0076] In some embodiments, one or more of the top or bottom sides (e.g., surfaces) of the base is substantially flat (e.g., with a flatness control tolerance value of + / - 0.03 mm or + / - 0.015 mm). In some embodiments, the flatness of the base of the artificial eyelash extension 200 is designed to allow for improved contact and adhesion with a surface, such as the underside of a natural eyelash or an opposing surface of another artificial eyelash extension. The flatness of the base can be at least partially attributed to the application of heat in the formation of the base.

[0077] In some embodiments, the base can be formed at least in part by applying heat at or near the area of the base. Applying heat can connect one or more artificial hairs (e.g., all artificial hairs or tufts) of the artificial eyelash extension to the base or at the base. In some embodiments, a heated fixture, such as a heated platen, a heated crimper, a heat lamp, a heating oven, or other device (e.g., pressing against the artificial hair) can be used to make the artificial hair (e.g., one or more artificial hair tufts) at least soft, sticky, or tacky (e.g., at least partially melted). In some embodiments, the at least partially melted artificial hair (e.g., one or more tufts) forms at least a portion of the base. In some embodiments, applying heat at least partially melts the artificial hair, causing the multiple artificial hairs to connect to or at the base of the artificial eyelash extension. In some embodiments, applying heat at least partially melts the artificial hair, causing at least some of the multiple artificial hairs to connect to each other at the base of the artificial eyelash extension.

[0078] In certain embodiments, in order to at least partially melt the artificial hair (for example and / or artificial hair cluster) at the base, the artificial hair can be heated to a temperature between 55 and 100 degrees Celsius, which can make the artificial hair connected to the base or connected at the base and / or connected to each other in some cases. In certain embodiments, the heat temperature is applied to be higher than the glass transition temperature of the material of the artificial hair, within the glass transition temperature of the material of the artificial hair, or at the glass transition temperature of the material of the artificial hair. At the glass transition temperature, the material of the artificial hair is changed from being easily broken to being softer, rubbery, sticky or pliable. In certain embodiments, the heat temperature is applied to be higher than the melting temperature of the material of the artificial hair, within the melting temperature of the material of the artificial hair, or at the melting temperature of the material of the artificial hair. For example, the base area (and / or other parts of the artificial eyelash extension) can be heated to higher than 200 degrees Celsius.

[0079] In some embodiments, one or more additional artificial materials, such as one or more artificial hair or other materials, may be placed roughly perpendicular to the artificial hair (e.g., aligned roughly horizontally relative to the longitudinal direction of the artificial hair). In some embodiments, the additional artificial material may be connected to the artificial hair. In some embodiments, the additional artificial material may be considered to be a base or at least an initial base. In some embodiments, the additional artificial material may be considered to be at least a portion of a base to be formed. In some embodiments, heat may be applied to the area to be formed of the base (which may include the additional artificial material). In some embodiments, one or more of the artificial hair and / or the additional artificial material may be at least partially melted to at least partially form the base. In some embodiments, the additional artificial material may include an adhesive (e.g., application of an adhesive) used alone or in combination with one or more other artificial materials (e.g., horizontal artificial hair, nylon, etc.). In some embodiments, applying heat may be used to help solidify the applied adhesive. In some embodiments using an adhesive, applying heat may or may not partially melt the artificial hair.

[0080] In some embodiments, the base can be formed at least in part by applying pressure. In some embodiments, the base can be formed by applying pressure in combination with applying heat. For example, applying pressure together with applying heat can be simultaneously applied to the base of the artificial eyelash extension to cause at least some of the artificial hairs (e.g., some of the artificial hairs of the tuft) to at least partially melt and connect together (e.g., fix together) and / or connect to (e.g., fix to) the additional artificial material.

[0081] In some embodiments, before applying heat, the artificial hair can be tied to (e.g., knotted to) a support member or base wire or fiber to align the artificial hair and prevent horizontal diffusion of the artificial hair. Heat can be applied as described above (while tying the artificial hair to the support wire) so that the support wire forms a part of the base. In other cases, heat can be applied below a horizontal support wire. For example, the support wire can hold the artificial hair in place, and applying heat can form a base below the support wire. In other embodiments, before or during forming the base using the application of heat, the artificial hair is not aligned with the support wire (e.g., not knotted on the support wire).

[0082] In other embodiments, a template or other placement device may be used to place the artificial hair before and / or during the application of heat to form the base. In some embodiments, one or more applications of heat may be performed to form the base. In alternative embodiments, the base may be partially or fully formed using a chemical process.

[0083] In some embodiments, one or more of the artificial eyelash extensions 200 and 300 include artificial hair 202 and 302, which are respectively configured into artificial hair clusters 204A-204G (collectively referred to herein as "clusters 204") and artificial hair clusters 304A-304G (collectively referred to herein as "clusters 304"). In some embodiments, an artificial hair cluster can refer to two or more artificial hairs grouped together. In some embodiments, the two or more artificial hairs in a cluster can be in contact with each other before and / or after heat is applied. In some embodiments, a cluster can include 2-30 artificial hairs.

[0084] In some embodiments, the artificial hair tufts can be connected to or at the base by applying heat in a manner similar to that described above. In some embodiments, applying heat can at least partially melt at least some of the artificial hair in one or more tufts of the artificial eyelash extension. In some embodiments, applying heat can at least partially melt at least some of the artificial hair of at least one tuft, causing at least some of the artificial hair of the tufts to connect to each other. In some embodiments, applying heat can at least partially melt at least some of the artificial hair of at least one tuft, causing at least some of the artificial hair of the tufts to connect to (and / or at least partially form) the base of the artificial eyelash extension. In some embodiments, at least some of the artificial hair of at least one tuft is connected to each other at corresponding portions of the base by at least applying heat.

[0085] In some embodiments, the clusters are connected to each other at the base by applying heat. In some embodiments, one or more clusters of artificial eyelash extensions are directly connected to at least one adjacent cluster at the base. In some embodiments, one or more clusters of artificial eyelash extensions are indirectly connected to at least one adjacent cluster of artificial eyelash extensions at the base.

[0086] In some embodiments, at least two artificial hairs of an artificial eyelash extension can crisscross each other. For example, two artificial hairs of a particular tuft can crisscross each other. In some embodiments, one or more individual artificial hair tufts can be formed using the application of heat as described above. Thus, the tufts can have a base (e.g., a tuft base). As described above, the tufts can be arranged and heat can be applied to the tuft base to at least partially form the base of the artificial eyelash extension (e.g., base 206).

[0087] In some embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension 200 or 300 can be 4 mm to 10 mm wide. In some embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension 200 or 300 can be 5 mm to 6 mm wide. In some embodiments, the width of the artificial eyelash extension is much wider than a single tuft, which is typically 1 mm to 2 mm wide.

[0088] The artificial eyelash extension 300 also shows adjacent artificial hairs (or adjacent tufts 304) coupled or secured to one another at connections 310A-310H (collectively referred to herein as "connections 310") of the crisscrossing artificial hairs 302. For example, at least one hair of a particular tuft can be secured (e.g., directly or indirectly) to one or more hairs of an adjacent tuft at a connection. In some embodiments, the connection can connect the artificial hairs (e.g., tufts) of the artificial eyelash extension together at an area between the ends of the artificial hairs, such that the artificial hairs of the artificial eyelash extension are directly or indirectly connected to one another to form the artificial eyelash extension, and the ends of the artificial hairs are not connected together (e.g., are open-ended).

[0089] In certain embodiments, connecting portion 310 can be considered to base, as described herein. In certain embodiments, connecting portion can be formed by applying heat in a similar manner as described herein. In certain embodiments, connecting portion can be formed by applying pressure in a similar manner as described herein. In certain embodiments, connecting portion 310 can use one or more of applying heat, applying adhesive, applying pressure or chemical process as described herein to form. For example, the artificial hair 302 of cross is connected or fixed together at about 1mm to about 5mm (+ / -0.5mm) above the end 306 (for example, the end 306 opposite to the end 308) of artificial hair 302.

[0090] In some embodiments, an artificial material can be used to secure the tufts to each other above the end 306 to form a connecting portion 310. In some embodiments, an additional artificial material, such as one or more artificial hairs or other materials, can be placed or connected horizontally relative to the longitudinal direction of the artificial hair (e.g., across the area designated by the connecting portion 310). The artificial hair or artificial hair tufts can be connected to the additional artificial material using one or more of the application of heat, application of adhesive, application of pressure, or a chemical process as described herein. In some embodiments, the application of the additional artificial material used to connect the artificial hair of the artificial eyelash extension 300 can be similar to the application of the additional artificial material used to form the base as described herein.

[0091] In some embodiments, a base (similar to the base 206 of the artificial eyelash extension 200) can be formed after forming the connecting portion 310 and then removed so that the artificial eyelash extension 300 does not include a base. In some embodiments, the fixed connecting portion 310 can hold the artificial hairs 302 of the artificial eyelash extension 300 together without a base. In some embodiments, the connecting portion 310 of the crisscrossing artificial hairs 302 can be formed without forming a base similar to the base 206 of the artificial eyelash extension 200.

[0092] In some embodiments, an artificial eyelash extension (such as artificial eyelash extension 200 or artificial eyelash extension 300) can be designed to be detachable so that one or more artificial hairs and / or tufts can be detached from the artificial eyelash extension. In some embodiments, the one or more artificial hairs and / or tufts can be detached from the artificial eyelash extension using an applicator as described herein. In some embodiments, the base and / or connecting portion can be breakable so that the artificial hairs and / or tufts can be detached from the artificial eyelash extension by bending the base or connecting portion of the artificial eyelash extension less than 45 degrees from a resting position (e.g., a flat base). For example, the tufts of artificial hair and / or artificial eyelash extension can be designed so that the connection between the artificial hairs and / or tufts can be broken with minimal force.

[0093] It should be understood that artificial eyelash extensions 200 and 300 are provided for purposes of illustration and not limitation. In some embodiments, artificial eyelash extension 200 and / or artificial eyelash extension 300 can be used with an applicator, as described herein. In some embodiments, artificial eyelash extensions other than artificial eyelash extensions 200 and 300 can be used with an applicator, as described herein.

[0125] Figures 5A to 5G is a diagram illustrating operations for attaching artificial eyelash extensions to natural eyelashes and curling the attached natural eyelashes using an electric applicator, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For purposes of illustration and not limitation, Figures 5A to 5G The description refers to elements of the preceding drawings.

[0126] Figure 5A The application of adhesive to natural eyelashes is shown according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 5A Adhesive 554 is shown applied to the underside of upper natural eyelashes 552 of eye 550 using an adhesive application tool 556 (e.g., a brush). The adhesive may include one or more of glue, mascara, adhesive, epoxy, paste, or any other natural or synthetic substance having adhesive qualities.

[0127] Figure 5B Arrangement of artificial eyelash extensions at natural eyelashes is shown according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 5BA first set of artificial eyelash extensions 500A-500E (generally referred to herein as "artificial eyelash extensions 500") is shown positioned on the underside of a user's natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, each of the artificial eyelash extensions 500A-500E includes a base 506A-506E, respectively. The bases 506A-506E can be positioned on the underside of natural eyelashes 552. In some embodiments, the bases 506A-506E are positioned near the lash line of the eye 550. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the top side of the bases 506A-506E is attached (via adhesive) to the underside of the natural eyelashes 552. In some embodiments, at least a portion of some of the artificial hairs of the artificial eyelash extensions 500 are attached (via adhesive) to the underside of the natural eyelashes 552. It should be understood that the size, number, and type of artificial eyelash extensions are shown for purposes of illustration and not limitation. In some embodiments, any number of artificial eyelash extensions can be attached to natural eyelashes. Although the artificial eyelash extensions are shown as sections of a given size, in other embodiments, the artificial eyelash extensions can be larger sections (or smaller sections) that extend, for example, approximately halfway across the lash line (e.g., two artificial eyelash extensions can cover the upper lashes). In other embodiments, a single artificial eyelash extension can substantially cover the lash line. In some embodiments, different types of artificial eyelash extensions can be used.

[0128] Figure 5C Artificial eyelash extensions are shown attached to natural eyelashes according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 5C Artificial eyelash extensions 500A-500E are shown attached to the underside of natural eyelashes using an applicator. The applicator shown can be the same or different from the applicator described herein. For example, a purely mechanical applicator can be used to attach the artificial eyelash extension to the underside of the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the inner surface of the applicator's arms can apply pressure to the artificial eyelash extension and the natural eyelashes, and provide a stronger bond between the artificial eyelash extension and the natural eyelashes (stronger than when no additional pressure is applied). The application of pressure can result in an increase in the bonding surface between the artificial eyelash extension and the natural eyelashes (more than when no pressure is applied). In some embodiments, the user can apply pressure to the applicator, which brings the opposing arms together and applies pressure to the artificial eyelash extension, the adhesive, and the natural eyelashes between them. The pressure can help secure or bond the artificial eyelash extension to the natural eyelashes.

[0129] In some embodiments, the electrical applicator 400 is used to attach artificial eyelash extensions to natural eyelashes. When attaching artificial eyelash extensions to natural eyelashes, the electrical applicator 400 can be in a heated state, a cooled state, or an off state.

[0130] Figure 5D The positioning of an electrical applicator in an aligned orientation is shown according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 5D The heated electrical applicator 400 is shown positioned at the eye area in an aligned orientation. In the aligned orientation, the curved portion 428 of each arm 402 is aligned with the lash line of the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments and Figure 5D Not shown, the electrical applicator 400 is obtained and activated such that the heating unit of the electrical applicator 400 is activated to heat the portion 410 of each arm 402 to a desired temperature. As shown, the electrical applicator 400 can be positioned in an aligned orientation when in the open position.

[0131] Figure 5E Transition of an electrical applicator to a closed position is shown in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 5E The artificial eyelash extension 500 is shown to be moved from an open position (eg, by closing the natural eyelashes and the portion 410 of the pair of opposing arms 402 attached (eg, attached) to the natural eyelashes. Figure 5D ) is transitioned to a closed position. In some embodiments, particularly for curling one or more of the natural eyelashes or artificial eyelash extensions 500, the heated electrical applicator 400 can be positioned toward or closer to the ends of the natural eyelashes or artificial eyelash extensions 500 (e.g., away from the lash line or base, respectively). The heated electrical applicator 400 in the closed position is shown in an aligned orientation.

[0132] Figure 5F The heated electrical applicator 400 is shown rotated into a rotated orientation according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the heated electrical applicator 400 is rotated in a closed position along an axis of rotation to transition the heated electrical applicator 400 from an aligned orientation to a rotated orientation. In the rotated orientation, at least a portion of a natural eyelash and at least a portion of an artificial eyelash extension contact an outer surface 416 of a portion 410 of at least one of the pair of opposing arms 402 of the heated electrical applicator 400. In some embodiments, one or more of the inner surface 418 or the outer surface 416 of the portion 410 of the heated electrical applicator 400 is heated to a desired temperature in the heated state. As shown, the outer surface 416 of the portion 410 has a curved portion 430 that facilitates curling one or more natural eyelashes or artificial eyelash extensions.

[0133] In some embodiments, the heated electrical applicator 400 is maintained in the rotational orientation and closed position for a period of time (e.g., 5-60 seconds) to curl (e.g., set the curl so that the curl remains after the electrical applicator 400 is removed) one or more natural eyelashes or artificial eyelash extensions 500.

[0134] For purposes of illustration and not limitation, curved artificial eyelash extensions are shown. In some embodiments, the electrical applicator 400 can be used to curl natural eyelashes without artificial eyelash extensions in a manner similar to that described herein.

[0135] Figure 5G Curled artificial eyelash extensions and natural eyelashes are shown according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, after maintaining the heated electrical applicator 400 in a closed position and rotational orientation for a period of time, the heated electrical applicator 400 can be removed to reveal one or more natural eyelashes or artificial eyelash extensions 500 in a curled position (e.g., at least more curled than before performing the above-described operations to curl the artificial eyelash extensions or natural eyelashes).

[0136] Figures 6A to 6F is a diagram illustrating operations for reattaching artificial eyelash extensions to natural eyelashes according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For purposes of illustration and not limitation, Figures 6A to 6F The description refers to elements of the preceding drawings.

[0137] Figure 6A 1 shows an artificial eyelash extension that has been attached to a natural eyelash according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension 500 can be attached or arranged to the natural eyelash as described above with respect to Figures 5A to 5C For the sake of brevity, in some embodiments, Figures 5A to 5C The description can be applied to Figure 6A , and are not repeated here. In some embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension 500 can be curled as described herein. In other embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension is not curled using the electric applicator 400.

[0138] In some embodiments, the artificial eyelash extension 500 is attached (eg, arranged and / or attached) during the first application period. In some embodiments, the following steps regarding the application of the artificial eyelash extension 500 are performed during the second application period. Figures 6B to 6F The second application session (reattachment) may be performed some time period (e.g., hours or days) after the first application session. In some embodiments, the second application session may be performed to reattach or strengthen the bond between the artificial eyelash extension and the natural eyelash.

[0139] Figure 6B The positioning of an electrical applicator in an aligned orientation is shown according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 6B The heated electrical applicator 400 is shown positioned at the eye area in an aligned orientation. In the aligned orientation, the curved portion 428 of each arm 402 is aligned with the lash line of the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments and Figure 6BNot shown in FIG, the electro-applicator 400 is obtained and activated such that the heating unit of the electro-applicator 400 is activated to heat the portion 410 of each arm 402 to a desired temperature. The electro-applicator 400 is also shown in an open position.

[0140] Figure 6C Transitioning the electrical applicator to a closed position is shown in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 6C The eyelash extension 500 is shown being moved from an open position (e.g., Figure 6B ) is transitioned to a closed position. In some embodiments, particularly for reattaching an artificial eyelash extension 500, the heated electrical applicator 400 can be positioned toward or closer to the base of the natural eyelashes or artificial eyelash extension 500 (e.g., away from the end of the artificial eyelash extension). The heated electrical applicator 400 in the closed position is shown in an aligned orientation.

[0141] In some embodiments, to perform the reattachment operation, the heated electrical applicator 400 is maintained in a closed position (and in an aligned orientation or another orientation) for a period of time (e.g., 5-300 seconds) to soften the adhesive used to attach (e.g., place and / or attach) the artificial eyelash extension 500 to the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the adhesive can be the original adhesive used to place and attach the artificial eyelash extension during the initial application period (e.g., see Figure 5A In some embodiments, additional adhesive may be applied. In some embodiments, no additional adhesive is applied (e.g., beyond the initial application period). For example, the adhesive bonding the artificial eyelash extension to the natural eyelash may be several days old and has hardened during that time. Introducing heat to the hardened adhesive may soften the adhesive and cause it to reflow or redistribute to different contact areas between the artificial eyelash extension and the natural eyelash.

[0142] Figure 6D An artificial eyelash extension is shown after a heated electric applicator has been removed, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 6D The artificial eyelash extension is shown after the heated electrical applicator 400 is removed from the eye area. The adhesive has been heated and may still be sticky or tacky. In some embodiments, the cooling unit 450 of the electrical applicator 400 can be activated to cool the portion 410 of each arm 402 of the electrical applicator 400.

[0143] Figure 6EThe cooled electrical applicator is shown positioned in an aligned orientation and closed position according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the cooled electrical applicator 400 can be positioned in an open position (not shown, but similar to Figure 6B ) is positioned at the eye region in an aligned orientation. In the aligned orientation, the curved portion 428 of each arm 402 is aligned with the lash line of the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the cooling unit 450 of the electrical applicator 400 is activated to cool the portion 410 of each arm 402 to a desired temperature.

[0144] In some embodiments, the cooled electrical applicator 400 is moved from an open position (e.g., similar to a position in which the natural eyelashes are closed) to the portion 410 of the pair of opposing arms 402 of the artificial eyelash extension 500 attached (e.g., attached) to the natural eyelashes. Figure 6B ) to a closed position. In some embodiments, particularly for reattaching the artificial eyelash extension 500, the cooled electrical applicator 400 can be positioned toward or closer to the lash line of the natural eyelashes or the base of the artificial eyelash extension 500 (e.g., away from the end of the artificial eyelash extension). The cooled electrical applicator 400 in the closed position is shown in an aligned orientation (but can be in a different orientation in some embodiments).

[0145] In some embodiments, to perform the reattachment operation, the cooled electrical applicator 400 is maintained in a closed position (and in an aligned orientation or another orientation) for a period of time (e.g., 5-180 seconds) to harden the adhesive used to attach the artificial eyelash extension 500 to the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the time between heating the adhesive and cooling the heated adhesive can be less than 5 minutes or at least during the same application period. By cooling the adhesive, the adhesive hardens to reform and even improve the bond between the artificial eyelash extension and the natural eyelashes.

[0146] Figure 6F An artificial eyelash extension is shown after a cooled electrical applicator has been removed, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. Figure 6F The artificial eyelash extension is shown after the cooled electrical applicator 400 is removed from the eye area. The adhesive has been heated and then cooled. Although the electrical applicator 400 has been used to illustrate the cooling of the adhesive, in some embodiments, a different applicator can be used. For example, as described herein, a purely mechanical applicator (e.g., a metal applicator) can be placed in a freezer and then used to perform the cooling.

[0147] Method 700 is described as a series of operations (or actions). It should be understood that some operations can be performed simultaneously with other operations. In certain embodiments, the same, less, or more number of operations can be performed in the same or different order. In certain embodiments, different operations can be performed, or multiple operations can be combined into a single operation, or multiple operations can be used to perform a single operation.

[0148] 7A to 7C is a flow chart illustrating operations for attaching, curling, and reattaching artificial eyelash extensions according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. 7A to 7C The method 700 can be performed by a user. In some embodiments, the user can use the electrical applicator 400 as described herein or a different applicator to perform at least some of the operations of the method 700. The user of the method 700 can be the same user on whom the artificial eyelash extension is applied or another user who is applying the artificial eyelash extension on behalf of the user.

[0149] At operation 705 of method 700, adhesive can be applied to the user's natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the adhesive can be applied to the underside of the natural eyelashes, such as the underside of the upper natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the adhesive can be applied to the top or side of the upper natural eyelashes, rather than the underside.

[0150] In some embodiments, the adhesive can be one or more of glue, mascara, adhesive, epoxy, paste, or any other natural or synthetic substance having adhesive qualities. In some embodiments, the adhesive can be a waterproof formulation that allows the artificial eyelash extension (and / or its detached artificial hair) to remain attached to the individual's natural eyelashes for a period of time (e.g., hours, days, weeks, or months). In some embodiments, the adhesive can be a commercially available adhesive used for conventional eyelash extensions or a specialized composition for the eyelash extensions described herein. The adhesive can be clear or tinted (e.g., creamy white or black to simulate mascara).

[0151] In some embodiments, the adhesive can be applied using a brush, comb, or any other type of application tool. In some embodiments, the adhesive can be applied 1 to 2 mm from the waterline. In other embodiments, the adhesive can be applied along the natural eyelashes or anywhere along the waterline. In some embodiments, it may be desirable to wait a predetermined period of time before proceeding to operation 710 to allow the adhesive to activate (e.g., partially cure or dry) its adhesive properties.

[0152] At operation 710, a user places one or more artificial eyelash extensions on the user's natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the one or more artificial eyelash extensions can be placed on the underside of the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the top side of each base of each artificial eyelash extension can be placed directly on the underside of the natural eyelashes (rather than on the eyelid). In some embodiments, the one or more artificial eyelash extensions can be placed to align with the curve of the lash line. For example, multiple artificial eyelash extensions can be placed adjacent to each other (e.g., without overlapping or stacking) so that the bases are aligned with the curve of the lash line. Therefore, when the artificial eyelash extensions are placed close to the lash line, the one or more artificial eyelash extensions can become approximately flush with the lash line.

[0153] In some embodiments, one or more artificial eyelash extensions can be placed at the underside of the natural eyelashes at a time. For example, a single artificial eyelash extension can be placed first, followed by another artificial eyelash extension, and so on. In some embodiments, an applicator (such as the electric applicator 400) can be used to place the one or more artificial eyelash extensions. The user can also rearrange the one or more artificial eyelash extensions as needed.

[0154] In some embodiments, placing the one or more artificial eyelash extensions at the user's natural eyelashes includes placing the one or more artificial eyelash extensions adjacent to each other at the natural eyelashes.

[0155] In some embodiments, the artificial eyelash extensions arranged at the natural eyelashes can include one to eight different artificial eyelash extensions. The number of artificial eyelash extensions arranged at the natural eyelashes can be based on the width of the artificial eyelash extensions, the thickness of the artificial hair used, the desired style, the desired eyelash density (also known as the "fullness" of the user's eyelashes), etc.

[0156] In some embodiments, rather than applying adhesive to the natural eyelashes (as discussed at operation 705) and then placing the one or more artificial eyelash extensions to the natural eyelashes (as discussed at operation 710), adhesive may be applied to one or more artificial eyelash extensions (e.g., top sides thereof), and then the artificial eyelash extensions may be placed at the natural eyelashes (e.g., undersides thereof).

[0157] At operation 715, the user can attach the artificial eyelash extensions to the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, each artificial eyelash extension can be attached (e.g., bonded) to the underside of the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, once the one or more artificial eyelash extensions are arranged in the desired configuration, the artificial eyelash extensions are secured to a surface (such as the underside of the natural eyelashes) and more permanently attached to the surface (e.g., for several days). In some embodiments, applying pressure one or more times using the electric applicator 400 or different applicators or times to cure the adhesive, as described herein, can be used to help attach the separated artificial hairs.

[0158] In some embodiments, operations 705 to 715 are performed during a first application period. In some embodiments, one or more of operations 720 to 775 are performed during a second application period. In some embodiments, the second application period is performed after the first application period. For example, the time period may be greater than 6 hours or greater than 1 day. In some embodiments, one or more of operations 705 to 775 may be performed during the same application period.

[0159] At operation 720, the electrical applicator 400 is obtained. In some embodiments, the electrical applicator 400 includes a pair of opposing arms and a heating unit. Each arm includes a first portion (e.g., portion 410) having a first bend (e.g., bend 428) disposed between a first end (e.g., end 424) and a second end (e.g., end 426) of the first portion.

[0160] In some embodiments, each arm further includes a first side (e.g., side 412) opposite a second side (e.g., side 414) and an inner surface (e.g., inner surface 418) opposite an outer surface (e.g., outer surface 416). The inner surface and the outer surface extend between the first side and the second side.

[0161] In some embodiments, the first portion of each arm includes a second bend (e.g., bend 434) disposed between the first end and the second end and along at least a portion of a first side corresponding to the first portion. In some embodiments, the second bend is positioned opposite the first bend. In some embodiments, the first bend is disposed along at least a portion of a second side corresponding to the first portion. In some embodiments, the first bend is a concave bend and the second bend is a convex bend.

[0162] In some embodiments, at least a portion of the inner surface corresponding to the first portion comprises a substantially flat surface. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the inner surface corresponding to the first portion of the opposing arms is designed to apply pressure to natural eyelashes and artificial eyelash extensions attached to the natural eyelashes.

[0163] In some embodiments, at least a portion of the outer surface corresponding to the first portion includes a surface having a third bend (e.g., bend 430) extending between the first side and the second side. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the outer surface corresponding to the first portion is designed to curl one or more of a natural eyelash or an artificial eyelash extension attached to the natural eyelash.

[0164] At operation 725, the user activates a heating unit of the electrical applicator. In some embodiments, activating the heating unit may heat the first portion of each arm to a desired temperature.

[0165] At operation 730, the heated electrical applicator is positioned at the user's eye area in an aligned orientation. In some embodiments, in the aligned orientation, the first bend of each arm is positioned to align with the lash line of the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, the heated electrical applicator is positioned in the aligned orientation when in the open position.

[0166] At operation 735, the heated electrical applicator is transitioned to a closed position. In some embodiments, the heated electrical applicator is transitioned to a closed position by closing the first portion of the pair of opposing arms over the natural eyelashes and the artificial eyelash extensions attached to the natural eyelashes. In some embodiments, if branch A is advanced (e.g., to curl the natural eyelashes and / or artificial eyelash extensions), the first portion of the heated electrical applicator can be closed over the natural eyelashes and / or artificial eyelash extensions near the ends of the natural eyelashes and / or artificial eyelash extensions. In some embodiments, if branch B is advanced (e.g., to reattach the artificial eyelash extensions), the first portion of the heated applicator can be closed over the natural eyelashes and / or artificial eyelash extensions near the lash line or base, respectively.

[0167] exist Figure 7B In the embodiment of the present invention, at operation 740 of branch A, the heated electrical applicator in the closed position is rotated to a rotated orientation. In some embodiments, the user rotates the heated electrical applicator in the closed position along the rotational axis to transition the heated electrical applicator from the aligned orientation to the rotated orientation. In some embodiments, in the rotated orientation, one or more of at least a portion of the natural eyelashes or at least a portion of the artificial eyelash extension contacts an outer surface of the first portion of at least one of the pair of opposing arms of the heated electrical applicator.

[0168] At operation 745 of Branch A, the heated electrical applicator is maintained in the closed position and the rotational orientation for a period of time to curl one or more of the natural eyelashes or the artificial eyelash extensions.
