Abstract

A control method for a vehicle configured to be capable of first external charging to charge an on-board power storage device with power supplied from a first charging facility provided outside the vehicle, the vehicle includes a first power receiving port configured to be connectable with a first connector of a first charging facility, a first cover provided at the first power receiving port, a first cover lock device configured to switch the first cover between a locked state and an unlocked state, and a controller configured to control the first cover lock device to be in a locked state or an unlocked state. The control method includes: when an access door of a vehicle is locked and a first cover is closed, a controller sets a first cover lock device to a locked state in synchronization with locking of the access door; and when the first cover is opened, the controller does not synchronize the locking of the first cover locking device with the access door.
