Abstract

The present disclosure provides a method, system, electronic device, medium and program product for detecting a new object, wherein the method for detecting the new object comprises: generating a template model based on a three-dimensional model, the template model comprising two-dimensional images of N camera angles and binary masks corresponding to the two-dimensional images; extracting a first feature vector from the two-dimensional images and the binary masks for each angle of the N camera angles, and converting the first feature vector into a first visual descriptor; obtaining a two-dimensional image and a binary mask of the new object; extracting a second feature vector from the two-dimensional image and the binary mask of the new object, and converting the second feature vector into a second visual descriptor; and detecting the new object based on a similarity comparison between the first visual descriptor and the second visual descriptor at all angles of the template model. The present disclosure achieves accurate detection of the new object without a large amount of training data.
