Method and apparatus for determining the reliability of registration of intravascular ultrasound images

Abstract

The application provides a method and device for determining the registration reliability of intravascular ultrasound images, comprising: obtaining a reference image and a target image of intravascular ultrasound after image registration; determining a first confidence metric evidence, a second confidence metric evidence and a third confidence metric evidence based on the reference image and the target image; the first confidence metric evidence is used to represent the minimization of global image alignment error, the second confidence metric evidence is used to represent the global uniqueness of suboptimal registration results, and the third confidence metric evidence is used to represent the local sharpness based on discrete curvature; and determining a comprehensive confidence score and a mismatch discrimination label based on the first confidence metric evidence, the second confidence metric evidence and the third confidence metric evidence. The image registration result of the reference image and the target image is determined to be reliable or not through multiple confidence metric evidences, and the robustness of IVUS multi-frame image processing and the reliability of the output composite image are improved.
