[0039] To illustrate technical specifications and structural features as well as achieved purposes and effects of the present invention, relevant embodiments and figures are described as follows.

[0040] In the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments, reference is made to the accompanying drawings, which form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. As such, directional terminology such as "top," "bottom," "front," "back," etc., will be used with reference to the orientation of the figure(s) to be described. The components of the present invention may be positioned in a number of different orientations. As such, the directional terminology is used for purposes of illustration and is not in any way limiting. Accordingly, the drawings and descriptions are to be considered as illustrative in nature and not restrictive.

[0041] It will be Fig. 1. Fig. 2, Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 referred to. Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 show schematic representations of an adjustable child device 100 in the unfolded state in different views according to a first embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 5 shows a diagram of the adjustable child device 100 in a state between the unfolded state and a folded state according to the first embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 6 shows a schematic representation of the adjustable child device 100 in the folded state according to the first embodiment of the present invention. The adjustable child device 100 comprises a first seating area 110, a second seating area 120, and two belt engagement elements 130. The first seating area 110 and the second seating area 120 are pivotable relative to one another. A chamber 111 is formed inside the seating area 110. The second seating area 120 is at least partially received in the chamber 111 when the second seating area 120 is pivotally folded relative to the first seating area 110 into a folded position. The second seating area 120 and the first seating area 110 are arranged on a horizontal plane to form a seating section 18 when the second seating area 120 is pivotally folded relative to the first seating area 110 into an unfolded position. The two belt engagement elements 130 are mounted on two lateral sides of the seat portion 18.

[0042] As in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, the adjustable child device 100 further comprises, in particular, a pivot shaft 140. A rear end of the first seating area 110 is pivotally connected to a front end of the second seating area 120 by the pivot shaft 140. An upper surface of the first seating area 110 and an upper surface of the second seating area 120 form the seat section 18, which allows a child to sit thereon when the second seating area 120 is pivotally folded into the unfolded position relative to the first seating area 110. To ensure ventilation of the seat section 18, in this embodiment, a plurality of ventilation openings can be formed on the upper surface of the first seating area 110 and the upper surface of the second seating area 120. To improve seating comfort, the adjustable child device 100 can further comprise a support element 121 made of soft material and, as shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 5, is arranged on a floor of the second seating area 120.

[0043] As in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, the two belt engagement elements 130 are pivotally connected to the two lateral sides of the seat portion 18, i.e., the two lateral sides of the first seat portion 110 or the second seat portion 120, where the first seat portion 110 and the second seat portion 120 are pivotable relative to each other. When the second seat portion 120 is pivotally folded relative to the first seat portion 110 into the unfolded position, the two belt engagement elements 130 can rotate relative to the first seat portion 110 for arranging in upright positions. At this moment, the adjustable child device 100 is in the unfolded state, as shown in Fig. 1. When the second seating area 120 is pivotally folded relative to the first seating area 110 into the folded position, the two belt engagement elements 130 can rotate to be arranged at horizontal positions relative to the first seating area 110 such that they do not protrude from a top side of the seating section 18. At this moment, the adjustable child device 100 is in the folded state, as shown in Fig. 1. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the two belt engagement members 130 can be pivoted to the two lateral sides of the seat portion 18 by the pivot shaft 140. However, this is not limited to this embodiment. For example, in another embodiment, except for the pivot shaft 140, the belt engagement member 130 can also be pivoted to the lateral side of the seat portion 18 by a journal, i.e., the belt engagement member 130 can be pivoted to a location other than a pivotal connection of the first seat portion 110 and the second seat portion 120 by the journal. This depends on practical requirements.

[0044] It will be Fig. 1 to Fig. 4 referred to. Fig. 3 shows a partial view of the adjustable child device 100 in the unfolded state according to the first embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 4 shows a schematic representation of the belt engagement element 130 of the adjustable child device 100 according to the first embodiment of the present invention. As in Fig. 1 to Fig. 3, the adjustable child device 100 further includes two attachment bosses 181 formed on the two lateral sides of the seat portion 18 for assembly with the two belt engagement members 130. A mounting hole is formed at a center portion of each of the two attachment bosses 181 to allow the pivot shaft 140 or the journal to pass therethrough. In this way, the belt engagement member 130 can be connected to the corresponding attachment boss 181 through the pivot shaft 140 or the journal. Furthermore, a positioning protrusion 182 is formed on each of the two lateral sides of the seat portion 18 and adjacent to the corresponding attachment boss 181. Alternatively, the attachment protrusion 182 may be a rib, and an extending direction of the positioning protrusion 182 may be parallel to a vertical direction.

[0045] As in Fig. 4, each of the two belt engagement members 130 includes a fastening portion 131 and a hook portion 132. A positioning recess 133 is formed on the fastening portion 131 of the belt engagement member 130 and disposed at a position corresponding to the positioning projection 182. In this embodiment, the positioning recess 133 may be specifically disposed between a first projection portion 134 and a second projection portion 135 formed on the fastening portion 131 of the belt engagement member 130 and spaced apart from each other. Furthermore, the first projection portion 134 and the second projection portion 135 may extend along a horizontal direction. The first projection portion 134 and the second projection portion 135 are disposed on two opposite sides of the positioning projection 182 when the positioning projection 182 engages with the positioning recess 133.Preferably, a height of the first projection portion 134 may be less than a height of the second projection portion 135. When the belt engagement element 130 is rotated to fold, the applied force must thereby overcome a detent point between the first projection portion 134 and the positioning projection 182, so that the positioning projection 182 can be released from the positioning recess 183 by passing over the first projection portion 134, and the second projection portion 135 stops the belt engagement element 130 and prevents excessive reverse rotation of the belt engagement element 130 when the belt engagement element 130 is in the unfolded position, i.e., the upright position.

[0046] The functional principle of the Fig. 1 to Fig. 6 is described as follows. When the adjustable child device 100 is in the unfolded state, the second seating portion 120 is pivotally folded relative to the first seating portion 110 to form the seating portion 18 to the unfolded position, and the two belt engagement members 130 are actuated to protrude from the seating portion 18 at the upright positions. Here, each of the two positioning projections 182 on the seating portion 18 is aligned with the positioning recess 133 on the corresponding belt engagement member 130, as shown in Fig. 1. When folding the adjustable child device 100 from the unfolded state to the folded state is desired, the second seating portion 120 can be actuated to pivotally fold relative to the first seating portion 110 for receipt in the chamber 111 on the first seating portion 110. Furthermore, the two belt engagement elements 130 can be actuated to rotate to the horizontal positions relative to the first seating portion 110 by releasing the two positioning projections 182 and the two positioning recesses 133 by the applied force capable of overcoming the detent between the two first projection portions 124 and the two positioning projections 182, as shown in Fig. 6. Consequently, the adjustable child restraint device 100 not only saves storage space but also improves safety because the second seating portion 120 is housed within the chamber 110 and the two belt engagement members 130 do not protrude from the first seating portion 110 and the second seating portion 120.

[0047] It will be Fig. 7 to Fig. 9 is referred to. Fig. 7 to Fig. 9 show illustrations of an adjustable child device according to further embodiments of the present invention. As in Fig. 7, the adjustable child device in this embodiment may further include a soft fabric 191 or other cover element covering the first seating area 110 and the second seating area 120 to improve seating comfort or aesthetic appearance. In addition, as shown in Fig. 8, the adjustable child device in this embodiment may further comprise a hold-down strap 192 for securing the first seating portion 110 and the second seating portion 120 when the second seating portion 120 is arranged in the folded position relative to the first seating portion 110. Furthermore, the adjustable child device in this embodiment may, as shown in Fig. 9, further comprising a suspension strap 193. The suspension strap 193 serves to connect the two strap engagement elements 130 arranged in upright positions when the second seating area 120 is in the folded position relative to the first seating area 110, thereby providing carrying comfort for a user.

[0048] It will be Fig. 10 to Fig. 12 referred to. Fig. 10 shows a schematic representation of an adjustable child device 100' in the unfolded state according to a second embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 11 shows a schematic representation of the adjustable child device 100' in a state between the unfolded state and a folded state according to the second embodiment of the present invention. Fig. Figure 12 shows a schematic representation of the adjustable child device 100' in the folded state according to the second embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, elements having similar structures and functions to those illustrated in the prescribed embodiment are designated by the same reference numerals. As shown in Fig. 10 to Fig. 12, a rear end of a first seating portion 110' is pivotally connected to a front end of a second seating portion 120' by a pivot shaft 140'. Two belt engagement members 130' are pivotally connected to the two lateral sides of the seating section 18 by the pivot shaft 140'. However, unlike the first embodiment, in this embodiment, the rear end of the first seating portion 110' is mounted to the front end of the second seating portion 120', and the two belt engagement members 130' are embedded in the rear end of the first seating portion 110', so that the two belt engagement members 130' can be driven to fold or unfold by folding or unfolding the second seating portion 120' relative to the first seating portion 110'.In other words, in this embodiment, the belt engagement member 130' may be automatically driven to fold or unfold between a stowed position and a use position when the second seating portion 120' is operated to fold or unfold relative to the first seating portion 110' between the folded position and the unfolded position.

[0049] In particular, Fig. 13A to Fig. 14 is referred to. Fig. 13A shows a partial view of the adjustable child device 100' in the unfolded state according to the second embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 13B shows a partial side view of the adjustable child device 100' according to the second embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 14 shows a partially exploded view of the adjustable child device 100' in the unfolded state according to the second embodiment of the present invention. As in Fig. 13A to Fig. 14, the first seating portion 110' includes two first connecting assemblies 150. Each of the two first connecting assemblies 150 is connected to the front end of the second seating portion 120' and the corresponding belt engagement element 130'. Each of the two first connecting assemblies 150 includes a central through-opening portion 155, a wheel 151, two receiving slot portions 153, and two driven wheels 152. The wheel 151 is disposed at the central through-opening portion 155 and connected to the front end of the second seating portion 120'. The two receiving slot portions 153 are disposed outside the wheel 151. An outer periphery of each of the two driven wheels 152 cooperates with an outer periphery of the wheel 151. In this embodiment, a contour of the first connecting assembly 150 may preferably be circular. The wheel 151 may be arranged at a central region of the first connecting arrangement 150.The centers of the two driven gears 152 and the gear 151 may be aligned on the same line. The two receiving slot portions 153 may be formed in arc shapes and arranged between the two driven gears 152. The number of driven gears 152 and receiving slot portions 153 is not limited to this embodiment. The first connection assembly 150 may, for example, also comprise only one driven gear 152 and one receiving slot portion 153. This depends on practical requirements.

[0050] It will be Fig. 15 is referred to. Fig. 15 shows a representation of the wheel 151 of the adjustable child device 100' according to the second embodiment of the present invention. As in Fig. 15, a fastening projection 1511 is formed at one end of the wheel 151, and the second seat portion 120' further comprises a second connection arrangement 140 for engagement with the wheel 151. In this embodiment, in particular, a fastening recess 1401 is formed on the second connection arrangement 140, as shown in Fig. 14. Through engagement of the fastening projection 1511 and the fastening recess 1401, the gear 151 can be fastened to the second seat portion 120'. Furthermore, the two driven gears 152 are rotatably mounted on two fastening pins 154 so that they rotate relative to the second seat portion 120'. The interaction between the driven gears 152 and the gear 151 increases a frictional force of the relative rotation of the driven gears 152 and the gear 151.

[0051] It will be Fig. 16 referred to. Fig. 16 shows a representation of the belt engagement element 130' of the adjustable child device 100' according to the second embodiment of the present invention. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 16, each of the two belt engagement members 130' includes a mounting portion 131', an inner gear 136, and a plurality of ribs 138. A contour of the mounting portion 131' may be circular in accordance with the first link assembly 150. The plurality of ribs 138 engage the periphery of the first link assembly 150. A sidewall of the mounting portion 131' is received in the two receiving slot portions 153, and the inner gear 136 is disposed on an inner periphery of the mounting portion 131' for engagement with the outer peripheries of the two output gears 152.In other words, when the first seating portion 110', the second seating portion 120', and the belt engagement member 130' are movably connected to each other, the outer periphery of the gear 151 engages with the outer peripheries of the two driven gears 152, and the outer peripheries of the two driven gears 152 engage with the inner gear 136 of the belt engagement member 130', thereby increasing a rotational frictional force. When the second seating portion 120' is folded or unfolded relative to the first seating portion 110', the gear 151 is rotationally driven, so that each of the two belt engagement members 130' can be automatically folded or unfolded through a cooperation between the gear 151 and the two driven gears 152, and between the two driven gears 152 and the inner gear 136.

[0052] Furthermore, two retaining projections 137 are formed on the side wall of the attachment portion 131' and movably received inside the two receiving slot portions 153. Specifically, the two retaining projections 137 move together with the belt engagement member 130' when the belt engagement member 130' moves relative to the seat portion 18. Preferably, a movement path of each of the two retaining projections 137 may be formed in an arc shape, and a movement range of the movement path may be equal to or less than 90°, thereby enabling manual rotation of the belt engagement member 130' to a desired position.

[0053] It will be Fig. 17A and Fig. 17B is referred to. Fig. 17A and Fig. 17B show partial representations of the adjustable child device 100' in the unfolded state in different views according to the second embodiment of the present invention. As in Fig. 17A and Fig. As shown in Figure 17B, a receiving space 161 for receiving an instruction manual 162 of the adjustable child device 100' is formed on the second seating portion 120'. The second seating portion 120' may further include two support blocks 163 disposed on both sides of a lower portion of the second seating portion 120' for supporting the instruction manual 162.

[0054] It will be Fig. 18 to Fig. 20 referred to. Fig. 18 shows a partial view of an adjustable child device 100'' in an unfolded state according to a third embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 19 shows a partially exploded view of the adjustable child device 100'' in the unfolded state according to the third embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 20 shows a diagram of a belt engagement element 130" of the adjustable child device 100" according to the third embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, elements having similar structures and functions as those illustrated in the prescribed embodiment are designated by the same reference numerals. As shown in Fig. 18 to Fig. 20, a rear end of a first seating portion 110" is pivotally connected to a front end of a second seating portion 120" by a pivot shaft 175. The two belt engagement members 130" are pivotally connected to the two lateral sides of the seating portion 18 by the pivot shaft 175. In this embodiment, the two belt engagement members 130" may also be driven to automatically fold or unfold between the stowed position and the use position by folding or unfolding the second seating portion 120" relative to the first seating portion 110" between the folded position and the unfolded position.

[0055] Unlike the second embodiment, in this embodiment, the first seat portion 110" includes two first connecting assemblies 170. Each of the two first connecting assemblies 170 includes a sun gear 173 and three planet gears 174. The sun gear 173 is connected to the front end of the second seat portion 120" . The three planet gears 174 mesh with the sun gear 173. The first connecting assembly 170 further includes a central through-hole portion 171 and three rib seats 172. The sun gear 173 passes through the central through-hole portion 171 and is mounted to the second seat portion 120" by the pivot shaft 175. The three rib seats 172 are arranged around the central through-hole portion 171. The three planet gears 174 are mounted on the three rib seats 172.In this embodiment, the three planetary gears 174 may be arranged at intervals on an outer circumference of the sun gear 173 for engagement with the sun gear 173. However, the number of the planetary gear 174 and the ribbed seat 172 is not limited to this embodiment. In another embodiment, the first connecting arrangement 170 may also include, for example, six ribbed seats 172 and six planetary gears 174. This depends on practical requirements.

[0056] As in Fig.As shown in Figure 20, each of the two belt engagement elements 130'' includes a mounting portion 131'' and a ring gear 136'. The mounting portion 131'' is connected to the first link assembly 170. The ring gear 136' is disposed on an inner periphery of the mounting portion 131''. When the mounting portion 131'' is mounted to the first link assembly 170 by the pivot shaft 175, the ring gear 136' meshes with the three planetary gears 174. In other words, when the first seating portion 110'', the second seating portion 120'', and the belt engagement member 130 are movably connected to each other, an outer periphery of the sun gear 173 is engaged with outer peripheries of the three planetary gears 174, and the outer peripheries of the three planetary gears 174 are engaged with the ring gear 136' of the belt engagement member 130''.When the second seating area 120'' is folded or unfolded relative to the first seating area 110'' in this way, the sun gear 173 is rotationally driven so that each of the two belt engagement elements 130'' can be folded or unfolded by an inhibiting action between the sun gear 173 and the three planetary gears 174 and between the three planetary gears 174 and the ring gear 136'.

[0057] Unlike the prior art, the present invention uses the first seating portion, the second seating portion, and the belt engagement member that are pivotable relative to each other, allowing the second seating portion and the belt engagement member to be folded relative to the first seating portion when the adjustable child restraint device is not in use. Consequently, the adjustable child restraint device has a compact storage size, saving storage space.
