Abstract

A control device (40) for an internal combustion engine (10), the internal combustion engine including a fuel injection valve (30) for injecting fuel directly into a combustion chamber (21) and a spark plug (29) for generating an ignition spark in the combustion chamber, the control device comprising: an injection control unit configured to cause the fuel injection valve performs multiple divided injections in one combustion cycle and in the case of split injections, a final split injection is performed in a later half of a compression stroke; a time setting unit configured to set a time interval lasting from an injection timing of the last split injection to an ignition timing of the spark plug to a constant time in a region in which a fuel pressure is the same; and an injection timing setting unit configured to set a crank angle position indicative of the injection timing of the last split injection based on the time interval set by the time setting unit and a rotational speed of an output shaft of the internal combustion engine, wherein the injection control unit is configured to set an injection quantity of the last split injection to a constant injection quantity regardless of the rotational speed.
